With the rush of Christmas over a lot of forums I visit have been holding threads on plans for 2013 model projects?
Myself I intend to continue with my various Zombies projects, More 7TV, Certainly more Empire of the Dead and a new one sci fi in 15mm.
I've always been in love with the Aliens, Predator, Aliens Vs Predator movies and books. I recently caught up with some movie watching and watched Prometheus which has sparke off my imagination. I looked into doing this in 28mm Hasslefree being a great source of marines. However there are no decent Alien figures that don't require major conversions to get the look that I want. So 15mm is the route I've decided to go it will be mainly figures from Khurasan though I may pick up a few bits and pieces.
The first package has arrived of many as I'm ordering small quantity's to avoid being stung by customs plus they have some excellent vehicles. I've been collecting some matchbox diecast vehicles from various places for the project which i'm going to try and strip and repaint.
What are you guys all planning on doing,

Hasslefree Parker
Reading the zombie like series by Charlie Higson The Enemy, The Dead, The Fear and The Sacrifice basically everyone over the age of 14 falls down with a diseases which turns them in to flesh hungry diseased beasts. It tells the story of the remaining children striving to survive in this new world. There are some great ideas in these books and it is what has inspired my competition entry for The Board of The Living Dead.
Hasslefree where obviously going to be my main source for Child like survivors. I picked up the Mantic/Hasslefree set 'Juveniles' which comprises of five armed children four of them you can get direct from Hasslefree and one is a special that can only be got in this set. I have to mention the fact that these figures are so tiny!
First up from this set is Parker this guy is one of my favourite figures by Hasslefree I love the coat and brings back fond memories from my Junior school years. Armed with a machette he's ready to cleave some zombies!
As December was quite busy for everyone we decided to push the comp deadline upto January 31st 2013 so I'll be doing there rest in the next few weeks

Merry Christmas Everyone
Just wanting to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
Christmas! The very word brings joy to our hearts. No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given--when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children, the same warmth that enfolds our hearts and our homes.
May your stockings be full and may the wine flow (or beer)
Break from work tonight until the new year yay! Looking forward to spending time with the family playing games with the kids and eating to much food. Just got the last few bits to do for my competition entry hoping to finish it for Christmas Eve.
Have a great one everybody hope your stockings and sacks are filled with lots of shiny things.
Peace to all

Foundry Converted Female Survivor
This is one of the figures I was intending of using as one of Brummies Angels an all group of female secret agents etc. Well the idea shortly fell on its ass as not long after i bought/converted all the miniatures some great female figures where released by Crooked Dice so the idea now is to use those instead.
So any way this was one I converted a fair bit. I've added a grenade/pouch from a space marine scout sprue as well as sculpting some extra pouches on the the back. I've use putty to cover the stomach and extend the top. The shorts have been filed down so that the look like skinny jeans and the roller skates have been converted into the huge biker style boots with the metal strips all over them. One thing I like about this miniatures is the fact she is holding the SMG left handed. I am right handed myself but when firing a rifle I automatically use my left hand? I've included a picture of the Foundry pack she is from so you can see what she looked like before hand.
Posts will probably tail off a little bit in the next few weeks as I need to get my diorama finished off for Christmas eve.

Purbrook Models Competition
A new model selling company called Purbrook Models announced on facebook a competition.
Which was what can you do with a free model in a month. The prize being a £10 voucher to spend in there store. So I though what the hell I'll give it a go. So here is my entry. Its a Mantic Corporate Marine It arrived fairly sharpish and not wanting to waste a figure I thought I'd convert it slightly and use it with my Hasslefree Lady Soldiers also sold by Mantic. I changed the head for one I had in the bits box as the helmet didn't really go with the others and then added a bit of sprue to make a drum magazine to the rifle and plan to use it as a light support weapon for my troops. I think its fits in well with the G36's carried by the rest of the gals so. Fingers crossed for the competition.
Posts might be a bit infrequent over the coming weeks with the prep coming upto Christmas and trying to get my Competition entry done most of my hobby time will be spent on that. There will be plenty of posts of the entry once its over but I don't want to show the work here yet.

Forgive me Father for I have sinned...... Blam Blam
Another Griffin survivor now OOP and now very hard to get hold of. I Managed to snap this one up off a fine chap on the Lead adventure forums Xander Check out his blog he's doing some pretty cool stuff at the moment in 20mm as well as Empire of the Dead stuff Xander's Musings.
Back to the figure its a great sculpt and was really easy to paint. Love the shotgun shells tucked into his sash. Seeing as he's in the process of reloading his shotgun I though I'd have a go at making some shells out of putty to add to the base. They look ok they came out a little bit big but when looking at them from tabletop view they look okay. I just need to try and get the 3 others miniatures to complete this set. Onto the pics.

Liebster Award
I was really pleasantly surprised and quite chuffed to be nominated for this award from the kindly PanzerKaput he is a gentlemen and a scholar he run's a great blog and is a very talented miniature painter and artist. His artwork on VBCW is fantastic and is always a treat to view. Please go check out his blog PanzerKaput's Painted Review.
The second part of the award is to nominate five fellow bloggers using the following rules listed below.
1. Copy and paste the award on your blog linking it to the blogger who has given it you.
2. Pass the award to your top 5 favourite blogs with less than 200 followers by leaving a comment on one of there posts to notify them that they have won the award and listing them on your own blog.
3. Sit back and bask in the warm fuzzy feeling that comes with knowing you have made someone's day!
4. There is no obligation to pass this onto someone else but its nice if you take the time to do so.
Here are my nominations in no particular order.
1. Shelldrake of Shelldrakes Zombie Wargaming Blog Another great blog covering mainly zombie themed wargamin but he is doing Strange Aeons and other great stuff. Shelldrake has also run a couple of Play by Blog games where he controls the map and rolls the dice etc whilst everyone else submits there orders. Its been tremendous fun. He also has a few other blogs that are worth checking out as well.

Road Warrior Ganger
Getting back into the swing of things this week as things return to normality slowly. This fella was a bargain I found in a model shop in Burton on Trent called Spirit Games a cracking model/board game shop just down the road from Burton train station. Anyway they have a wide variety of miniatures some not listed on there website and they have a treasure trove of OOP miniatures for people to delve through and I came across this gem of a miniature for the princely sum of £1.20. He is I believe from the blister pack a Prince August Loki Viking Gang Member I can't find links to him on the web though besides the odd picture here and there.
Perhaps more Post Apocalyptic than modern day but I think he will fit in well with my biker gang and that's what he will be used with. The numbers of my bikers are steadily increasing now to 8 members I plan to get more most likely after Christmas when funds are better.
Armed with an axe and a metal dustbin lid as a shield he can go bash some zombie skulls with his axe he will add a little melee muscle to the group. The sculpt had very little flash or moldlines and was easy to paint the pose is perhaps a little 2D if you know what I mean but I think its quite characterful none the less. Onto the pictures

A Whingy update..... Sorry
I have absolutely nothing to show this week, due to a stomach bug which went round the whole household the weekend we essentially lost two days of just feeling yuck and trying to help the SWMBO look after two grizzly unwell children whilst feeling like crap as well.....not FUN. So consequently have not been doing much hobby stuff..
Shame really I picked up some figures Friday that I'm itching to get started on as I'm going to use them in a little diorama piece that I'm making for a competition over at Board of The Living Lead Its only a friendly one and is just for fun the deadline for completion is Christmas Eve and then we will post pics on the forum and then they will be voted on by the members to see who wins.
Rules are simply its a Diorama that must be based on a CD and have at least 2 miniatures, one of which must be a zombie. I've themed mine around the a zombie book series I'm reading at the moment.
I started work on it a few months ago and over the past couple of weeks have done a few more bits to it and it is progressing nicely. The diorama base is built just requires texture adding to it and the whole thing needs painting up. The figures will still have there normal bases as I want to use them besides for just this diorama.
I might do a how I built it post as I've taken some pics of it being built. I'll do this after the competition though as I want it to be a surprise.
Here's hoping you are all well and normal service will resume shortly!

Hasslefree Jess Fiery Redhead means business
The past few weeks has been manic been working all over the place so not getting as much hobby stuff finished as I'd like I have finished another figure from Hasslefree a very well tooled up redhead, Not sure if she is supposed to be a teenager or not as she is quite a small lady. Equipped with a hockey stick, machete and shotgun strapped to her back she's ready to kick some zombie ass. Decided to have a go at red hair again as this to me seems a hard hair colour to pull off.

Hasslefree Oakley and Happy Birthday Me!
Firstly Happy Birthday me 33 today wow where has the time gone lol doesn't seem five minutes since I was 21. Scheduled post today as all being well I'm still tucked in bed having a lie in for a change :D
Miniature wise finished off another survivor. Fantastically sculpted by Kev White of Hasslefree. Oakley comes with an awesome array of extras a chainsaw hand (evil dead Ash), an axe with real hand, a pouch for the shotgun in his left hand or a katana in scabbard to be attached to his back. I went with the axe and shotgun pouch for this survivor. The pose is awesome with him crushing a skull underfoot. Loads of detail but not to much. This guy has obviously been through some serious scrapes judging by all the rips and tears in his clothing.

Hasslefree Professor Beattie
I really like this figure. From Hasslefree miniatures in there Non com and civilian range. Professor Beattie comes with 3 hand options a revolver (one I chose) a smoking pipe and an injector type device. Not sure what I'm going to use him for yet either as a friendly doctor in my survivor party or perhaps he is the one behind the zompocalypse!
Not sure about how the white coat has turned it doesn't seem as crisp as I'd of liked.

Rogue Miniatures Red Rum
So far Zombtober has been an epic fail zombie wise. My order still hasn't shown up yet despite chasing it last week grrr no zombies for me this month it seems. Anyway onto my next survivor addition
Another fantastic figure from Rogue Miniatures 'Gun' range Red Rum is based on the character Jack Torrance from the Shining by Stephen King. I'll be using him as a survivor armed obviously with an axe. Very nice casting I don't recall seeing any moldlines or flash. The pose is excellent and I look forward to using him in my zombie games. I chose to do my own colour scheme, but its not to dissimilar to the movie version though I have no intention of using him as such anyway.
I already have 'Herb' and 'Agent Ready' and I can recommend them for great service. I shall certainly be picking up some more from this range soon.
A little pic of Jack in the movie.

The Grimes Family and The Walking Dead Season 3
Firstly Woot Woot Can't wait for tonight Season 3 of The Walking Dead Kicks off and I can't wait. I've been busy watching season one and season two these past few weeks to refresh my memory in anticipation. So I'll be sitting down with a few beers and some popcorn anticipating getting of hold of tonight episode as the new season starts.
Miniatures wise I've been busy painting up Rich and Family obviously based on the cast for The Walking Dead comics. Very nice miniatures again from Studio minatures nicely sculpted and they all had very little flash and mold lines. I love this set of figures and hope the rest of the cast may make an appearance at some point.
They where really nice to paint my only gripe is that Lori's made it difficult (for me anyway) to paint her hair/face/arms as I found it awkward to get the brush in with out undoing bits I'd already done. Carl though small was nicely detailed and a fun miniature to paint. Anyway onto the pictures. I really wasn't sure what colours to use so stuck as close to the Studio Miniatures websites pics as possible.
ENJOY SEASON 3 I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THIS EVENING WOOT WOOT

Reaper Miniatures Berkeley Zombie Hunter
My last and final survivor figure from my batch or Reaper Chronoscope miniatures. I do want more of them especially the zombie themed ones but alas money demands it be shared out on other ranges.
Anyway this final lady is Berkeley, Zombie Survivor she is certainly tooled up for zombie fighting chainsaw, shotgun and a machete tied to her hip. I may return to her at some point and add some gore but I'm undecided still. Nice sculpt really like the rips and tears in her jeans as well as the zombie hand still gripping the trouser leg. Grrr I hate eyes nuff said they got re-done a number of time with this figure.
Heres what I mean put them next to each other and they look like bro and sis.

Reaper Minatures Survivor Gallup
Another Reaper Survivor figure again from the Chronoscope range this time Gallup I'm advised he based on a computer game character. I'm not fussed about that to be honest and just painted him in a scheme of my own devising.
Nice pose I really like the addition of the guitar adds a little more character to him than what he would look like without it. I painted both bits separate as I wasn't sure whether I was going to add it to begin with.
For some reason this miniature and the next one I'm doing when put together to me seem to be like Brother and Sister don't know why they just seem that way.
All the rest of my other survivors have landed and have been based and under coated ready for work to begin

Hasslefree Kitty Survivor
Another figure dug out of the leadpile. Kitty from Hasslefree she has been really stuck in the pile since January I really don't know why its took me so long to paint her because its superb miniature and the pose is excellent. I ended up taking four pics as the twisted pose theres no front and rear view as such. Any enjoy the pics. The Hello Kitty back pack is just a brilliant touch my little one went potty when she saw it.
