Its all a bit Simon Pegg this Week

Have been watching a few movies lately Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz being a couple of them. Got some more survivor figures finished obviously as the post title suggests related to Simon Pegg and such classic movies. First up is Hasslefree Ray obviously influenced by the Shaun of the Dead movie great pose and love the cricket bat and sawnoff shotgun. Was great to paint as well.

Next up is some British Bobbies again from Hasslefree this time from the Movie Hot Fuzz. Officer Nick and Pc Sam Ford cracking sculpts again and great to paint. I've not quite got the hand of pinning and struggled with Officer Nicks arms to be honest. I think its because the arms are curved rather than being flat I couldn't get the pin to line up properly.

More Sidekicks than named characters these will come in handy bashing cultists and zombies alike. I bought two Hasslefree Riot Cop Neils so I could do both versions, Fantastic sculpts again with lots of kit and character. I've done the riot gun up more like a shotgun as I don't really want to be pelting Zombies with rubber bullets or teargas. Had a go at soem freehand on the shield which was ok but looking at the close up I need to redo the letter I doh!

Last but not least a non Hasslefree figure this time from Crooked Dice, WPC May Killan but in my twisted vision she will be used as PC Doris Thatcher from Hot Fuzz. Great sculpt and in one piece, nice bits of kit and a nice combat pose.

  6. Those are great!

I especially love the policeman with the hat, I really need to get one of those, lol. Still sad I haven't asked anyone for a picture while I was there.

Shaun is just legendary, looks like you're not a zombie gamer if you don't own him :D

I don't know how you pin, but a good idea is to drill one piece and stick a pin in (lets say arm), then you dab it in a color, and put it on a body as you wish. This way color will leave a mark for where to drill another hole. But then again, that won't help you with armsnot being flat, im afraid.

    1. Thanks You Mathyoo. Straight forward flat surfaces i've had no problems with but this was curved to fit in the groove. I had to fill and widen the one hole to fit properly

  7. Great job Brummie, and they are all great figures. You've done a particularly good job with the white clothes, which can be tricky. Shaun looks great.
Riot cop Neil looks well done, though I don't think I'd have the guts to attempt the freehand for the word POLICE. It would be a decal for me (though I've never done those yet either).

    1. Thanks Joe, They have some useful figures over at Crooked Dice. May killan's brother would make a good survivor. I plan on getting him and adding a crowbar or baseball bat to him

  11. Bravo Sir! Great work on these miniatures which are just great; will now have to have the riot gear cops after seeing how good they look painted up.

I saw some clear waterslide decal paper on Amazon and was tempted to have a go at printing my own; haven't tried yet but worth thing about for the future. Not sure how you would print white though?

Love the new Avatar by the way!

    1. Cheers Michael, Could you not print it so it is blank with a outline all would the decal paper be transparent?

If its transparent print it so it has the outline of the word and paint white underneath the decal then use your base colour to hem the word in
