My eldest Carmen turned 8 yesterday so most of the spare time
this weekend has been spent on prep for birthday celebrations and other things associated with it.
Know for Christmas I bought Carmen a set of figures from the Frostgrave range by Northstar miniatures. A pair of young Fire Elementalists who if ahem cough cough were to be painted up in a similar colour scheme would make a perfect wargaming set of Anna and Elsa from the film Frozen.
This has been a father/daughter project we have worked on over January and into this month and we have finished the first of the pair this week.
We cleaned them up (mostly me) and based on some mdf bases I had spare we used my normal milliput as I thought it would look good as snow.
Carmen busy working away. I helped her with the fiddly bits such as lips and eyes. But other than that it was all Carmen :)
I think the base looks quite well as snow. Onto Anna next.
Excellent father and daughter work (which reminds me to get this pair for my eldest) - bravo!
ReplyDeleteThere nice minis and simple but effective sculpts so I feel easier for them to paint.
DeleteAny posts like this just fill my heart with gladness, Simon. Carmen has done a fantastic job on Elsa (with a little help from you). She clearly has talent.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan Carmen will be reading all these comments :) We hope to use them in a game of some sort.
DeleteNice work; I can see the talent flows through her veins as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope so :)
DeleteShe paints better than me! Great work!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great job! She certainly has a talent for it!
ReplyDeleteCarman says thanks Gordon :) I hope so she is itching to paint Anna next. We will do it in half term.
DeleteOoooo, ain't that great? Truly lovely!
ReplyDeleteWell done Carmen. :)
ReplyDeleteNice work Carmen.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea. She must have been thrilled to see the minis. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteYes Carmen was chuffed to get them. I shall have to pick the set coming out from HF at some point.
DeleteSuperb, a rare talent there.
ReplyDeleteSuper father/daughter project and an excellent end result - I wonder where she get her talent from ?
ReplyDeleteNice to see mate, my daughter only ever uses the model she painted when we play zombies!!! It does encourage them to play more
ReplyDeleteYeah whenever we play games they always pick out the female characters from survivor sets.
DeleteThe primer glows white on the LEAD mountain tonight,
ReplyDeletenot a fingerprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like Carmen's the queen.
The paint choice is howling like this swirling storm inside.
Couldn't keep it in, Heaven knows I tried.
let them in, let us see them .
Be the good girl you always have to be.
Reveal, don't Squeal, don't let them know.
Well, now they know!
Let paint flow, let paint flow!
Can't hold it back any more.
Let paint, let paint flow!
Yeah Ok it's not my best lyrics but with luck you'll get the flow! And remember painting with a princess dress on is the future!
LMAO You should work for Disney Clive :)
DeleteGreat work young lady! Top dad work Simon.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I can't think where I've seen this pair before :-) . Congratulations to your daughter on her painting and on both of you for doing this together!
ReplyDeleteShe did good Simon.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, I look forward to seeing more of her work :)
