Had been mostly painting droids for Stargrave/7TV however I ran out of black paint and primer this week and won't get chance to pop to a LGS until the weekend so Whilst assembling some other miniatures I have quickly painted Luke who was the last of my Primed Legion Core set. I'd already partly painted the base. So quickly painted him whilst watching a movie last night.
I can also use all my Star Wars stuff for Stargrave! All thats left of the Rebel side of the Core set is the ATRT! That was proving just as frustrating as I tried to magnetise the weapons but I failed miserably. I think I need some slightly smaller ones and need to plan it a bit better the 2mm by 1mm magnets are to big.
Super work Simon, especially on the hair and light-sabre. Spookily, I have that very figure on my painting table too, so will be returning to this posting when I put my brush to it for reference.
ReplyDeleteCheers very much Simon. I prefer the Operative Sculpt If I am honest but also have a 3D printed Ahsoka to paint so will probably use that model and use Luke's Profile. The Saber was done using GW Enchanted Blue (Hex pot) thinned then whilst wet I painted a thin white strip along it front and back kind of wet blending I suppose.
DeleteCheers Simon. I actually thought you might have used Vallejo Fluorescent Blue. I'll add a pot of GW Enchanted Blue to my list for when I next order as its a gorgeous colour.
DeleteI am not sure what it translates to nowadays. As mine is from a hex pot from waaaay back. I rarely use it to be honest but it seemed fitting for the saber.
DeleteExcellent work on Luke Simon, and great you have multiple uses for him
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Dave!
DeleteGreat work Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal!
DeleteIconic pose on a classic character! Lovely brushwork as always too.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Dean!
DeleteYep, looks like Mark Hammil in Bespin! Good stuff mate
ReplyDeleteCheers Dai! Yep I want the Operative version as well. I can see some bits that need tidying up.
DeleteBrilliant work Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Ray!
DeleteReally good painting on this one, especially the lightsabre.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Matt. Looking online there is so many ways people paint them. I may take on board some suggestions as I can see some bits I could of done neater.
DeleteGreat brushwork Simon! I have all the Imperial Assault ones to paint up...yes I did paint them up for a buddy, but mine are all pristine still.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terry. Look forward to seeing yours a second time round!
DeleteOhh, the Force is strong with you, pretty nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Simon! One of my favorite models 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Ivor! More coming up in the next few weeks.
DeleteIconic figure of Luke, great brushwork making him look instantly recognisable (even to me).
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Joe.
DeleteIt's hard to get the Skywalker out of that mini because of how iconic the character was ... but it's a fairly good stargrave proxy nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much. Yes very much an iconic pose and mini. Stargrave isn't fussy which is a good thing.
