Crooked Dice Pandora King

Well off of the painting queue this week is this lovely lady from Crooked Dice miniatures. The rather buxom Pandora King (Version 2) Sculpted by Ernst Veingart (who has done a good number of sculpts for them now) was a joy to paint. I've tried to keep the face simple as I end up ruining them by adding make up!






Also touched up my Hasslefree Alexander by adding in eyes, touching up the flesh and giving his suit a blue inkwash to tone down the highlights a bit.



Got a game of  S.D.Z.A in as i'm helping with playtesting. It plays really quick and is easy to pickup once you get started. Looking forward to playing some more of it for sure.

Also playing a game tomorrow night with some of the ATDE guys  a new game called The Shattered Crown.

Next week on Tuesday sees me visiting Pulp Citizen for a game of Pulp City can't wait!

      Pandora is indeed gorgeous! I quite like the previous versions I may go back and strip one.

      Cheers Simon. I am quite pleased with the white. Lots of thin layers of white up from a grey base coat.

      Thanks. Why black out of interest? If your referring to Ms Peel have a google. There is been purple and yellow, blue and white as well as black to name a few. But this is following the Official colours though I changed the all the leather to white as I felt it more in with the 60s/70s style than Kevs Black booted version.

    That's a gorgeous figure and I love the colours you chose for her. Unevenness in her eyes are due to the way she was sculpted and NOT your painting. Your work on her is good. I myself have yet to come up with a way to solve such problems i.e. when the miniature's eyes are uneven as I lack the skill to re-sculpt them.

      Thanks very much. I have to agree. I have tried to disguise it a little with paint but the left eye is much more prominent. I think it must be the way its mould though as there was an annoying thin moldline down the side of the face along the edge of the right eye.

    Very nice paint-work and great colour choices Simon; she looks very bold and the scheme fits perfectly IMHO. :)

      Thanks very much mate. Yes I am trying to be more bold with my spy fi stuff. Especially the main characters and what not.

      Cheers Clint! She is indeed. I need to make my mind up what todo with the new Hugo Soloman whether to keep his current head or put on the alternative that comes with it.

    Excellent figure! I think the painting of the zip is superb and very difficult to get to look good. Nice choice of colours. I may have to get some crooked dice stuff at some point:)

      Thanks mate. I did in stages grey either side along with the collar.touched the grey line up with the blue. Then did the zip in chainmail dark tone wash over it. Then 2-3 thin layers of white (maybe more) until the colour was build up leaving the grey along the edges of the zip and around the collar.

    Very smart :-) . I'm thinking that she does all her scenes in a studio, else the white boots might get a bit muddy :-) !

    Great paintjobs as always Brummie, on both figures, though the Hasselfree sculpt is far better proportioned.
