Studio Miniatures Norm (Daryll)


First up off the paint bench in a while is Norm from Studio miniatures aka Daryll Dixon. This is a lovely sculpt I really like how the crossbow has been cast. My only issue with it was the straps either snapped off or didn't cast properly and I didn't notice upon arrival from the Kickstarter that was done a couple of years ago. I've replaced it with some paper fold in half then trimmed to the right width then coated in superglue.





I hope to finish get another couple done from the kickstarter as I am enjoying the current season of the Walking Dead.

      Cheers dude! I have enjoyed all of it pretty much. I find the waiting the hardest bit each week its much better when I can watch it in chunks!

    A wonderful miniature, not only because of the pose, but he also looks like a very clean cast.

      Thanks very much. Yeah the casting was pretty good tbh it was just the straps not casting or perhaps they were damaged at some point as I can't imagine them being very thick.

      I am trying my utmost hardest but thankfully I have probably most the cast in metal already so its a bit easier in that regard.

    Great work and nice salvage job on the strap. I gave up on TWD long ago but always liked the Darryl character.

    Nicely done Simon! The more I see of these Studio Miniatures, the more I am drawn to them. The excellent brushwork certainly helps!

      They really have some fab minis some can be a little small. I have one of the Z Squad packs and thou nicely sculpty they are a fraction smaller than most of the single figures.

    Great work on this one ... only a Daryl look alike can pull off looking macho as well as have angel wings on his jacket. ^_^
