Finished of the rest of the faction this week. First up is the Graf who is the leader of the group. This miniature has become a firm favourite it has lots of nice little details that where interesting to paint up. Torn clothing, lacy shirt cuffs the sword in particular has lots of nice details. Still not sure about the flesh tone for vampires I may have to try something else on the ones that come in the kickstarter. I tried to use colours that where used on all the models mainly the dark green but wanted the three characters to be individual as a lord and lady vampire would be. (Well in my imagination anyhow Read 'Anno Dracula' by Kim Newman recently as well which didn't help lol).
Next up is the second character the Consort sort of a Get or Lesser Vampire type still quite powerful in combat. Again another interesting miniature to paint lots of nice little details such as the ribbons in the hair and the bow at the rear.
The final character from this faction 'The Guardian' he is the one who is responsible for the Graf and Consort during daylight. Again lots of little details stand out the sword and the torn cloak tassles of hair.

Final group shot of the whole faction together.. | |
What a nasty-looking bunch! It gives me the creeps just looking at them [and that should be taken as a considerable compliment to both the sculptor and the painter :-) ].
ReplyDeleteThanks Hugh, They painted up far nicer than I though they was going to.
DeleteGreat job on paintjobs - I see female vampire's gem didn't do the trick - too small I guess!
ReplyDeleteThe lord is very striking, great hair color and face is just fantastic. Female does seem quite plain on her own, but blue makes her pop up nicely in a group photo.
Thanks mate, Yes i'd have to agree she looks better in the group picture. The gem was tiny. My eyesight even with glasses on wasn't good enough to do it justice.
DeleteNice work here Brummie.. really like how you went about painting them! Though can't say that I like the ladies face too much ( sculpt not painting ). Nice group shot as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you very kindly. A few people don't seem sure of this set from the comments i've read here and there. They are very nice in the flesh.
DeleteGreat job. The Graf looks great. I always struggle with red for some reason but his cloak looks really good. Skin tones too. I like the Westwind sculpts too. Enough detail without the GW style ver the top stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I've just started to use Army painter Paints and this was the first use of there red I must say I'm quite impressed with it. It only took two thin coats over a white basecoat to get such good coverage.
DeleteGreat Job and good paint Simon
ReplyDeleteReally very beautiful this series of vampires .
Greetings
Thanks Vincent. I really can't wait for the Kickstarter to arrive there are some really lovely figures amongst them.
DeleteI like them all, Simon. Very good paintwork all round. I was pleased to see you include a group shot of the whole team. This is definitely my favourite faction.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan glad you like them.
DeleteVery very nice, love the Graf figure, so full of character and evilness!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray, The Graf is my favourite of the bunch to.
DeleteNice work. Empire of the dead are really filling out!
ReplyDeleteCheers Rob yes indeed. I only need to get a few more figures and the zombie box set and i'll have the whole collection to date.
DeleteAwesome Simon, the leader is particuly good, looks very evil and very Ragtag
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, Hes proving the most popualr by the comments being left glad you like him.
DeleteI love the intense red of his cape, Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dezmond :D
DeleteI'm really enjoying this series Simon. These figures are just so cool. You did great with that red cape. I have a devil of a time getting red to have any depth.
ReplyDeleteThat last group picture makes a great statement.
Thanks Anne, Army Painter Paints is the answer I'm glad I've changed paints been a little disappointed with GW new system of paints there a bit weird don#t seem to water down as well as they used to.
DeleteGreat group of minis. Certainly look great together and I'm sure in a game scenario too. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean. I might play a game with the weekend. Undecided on what game to play. I want to use these figures vs the Brotherhood I finished. But I also want to have a crack at 7TV games.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Brummie. Love the skin tones on the male Vampire.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much mate. :D
DeleteGreat evil-looking bunch and you kept the best to last, you've done an excellent job on the Graf who is such a fine sculpt.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it's a rule thing but does a Vampire really need a sword ?
Thanks Joe. There is that but you get penalty's for being unarmed. I suppose they could of been given the teeth and claws rule. Vampires can only use weapons that are medievil in nature. Which is mainly close combat weapons and I think Hand crossbows from memory.
DeleteThey start out basic and earn new spells etc as they accumulate experience.
Great looking faction Simon! Looking forward to reading of their exploits.
ReplyDeleteCheers Scott, May have a game with them tonight as the SWMBO is going out with her mates and I will have the house to myself :D
DeleteVery nice my boy, excellent miniatures with an even better paint job! They remind me of something, so 'Fangs for the memories' (ouch).
ReplyDeleteLOL Thanks Mate.
DeleteNice work Simon, I'm yet to be snared by Empire of the Dead, but your work makes it look tempting.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, Very kind of you did I mention those buildings of yours would make good Victorian terraces :P
DeleteLooking great Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks you kindly sir.
DeleteThese look great! Lovely scheme on them, lots of character!
ReplyDeleteCheers Deserter!
DeleteBeautifully done. They all fit together very nicely.
