Baker Assault Specialist for Across the Dead Earth

This guy isn't so new. Originally I painted him a few years back but was never happy with the face. I decided to pop him in the strip pot and I've shortened the suppressor on his smg and drilled the barrel out a bit. I've done the same for Suzi (click the name for the old version) as well but I've not got her painted up yet. As i'm broke I may do the same for a few other of my Hasslefree figures undecided on which ones but most likely all my British Police I have. I've separated all the clothes in different colours and what not.

I'm take a gang over to Rich's tonight for another game of Across the Dead Earth its either going to be a 3 way friendly or we will be trying out some new rules for Sollus (Zombies). The Stour Raiders aren't quite retired yet but I fancy a group with a bit more fire power.

This is the old version of Baker I did in August 2011.

I've got a pretty busy day at work today and will be out gaming tonight so i'll try and reply to comments at some point today but most likely tomorrow. Thanks for looking and wish me luck for tonight!

  3. Good luck for tonight, I am looking forward to the AAR. You have got me quite interested in this as a game now. Still not committed, but now "Officially" interested.

A very great re-paint, he looks so much better now.

    1. Thanks Clint. You'll be glad to know I took some pics and and AAR will be on its way some pics didn't turn out so I will have to fill in some gaps with text.

      Mini Clint did quite well!

  5. The paint work is a vast improvement, Simon, but I'm afraid I do not like the shortened sound suppressor. I'd have left it alone.

    1. Thanks Bryan. I've never been keen on the suppressor. My only indecision was whether to remove it completely or not. It will do for now as a cobbled together looking firearm bit like some of the makeshift ones they have in waterworld.

  6. Definely an improvement imo (inlcuding the shortened suppressor), though the first rendition was very acceptable.

    1. Thanks Red isn't a colour I have much luck with but have to try it now and again to see If I can get it any better. I think these are better than my usual reds that I've done before but its still not quite there yet.

  11. This is a very nice repaint! Do you think that your technique has improved a lot over the years?

    1. Thanks Hugh. Yes and no I think to some extent it depends on the sculptor and how enthusiastic I am about painting a figure. I think practice makes it easier I find it takes me a while to get back into things after not painting for a while.

  12. Without wishing to be rude about your original effort, I think this is an improvement, but I guess we all get a little better the more minis we paint!

  13. Such a cool survivor mini, love the knuckle duster 'just in case'. The paint job is superb, the finish on the various fabrics is very convincing.
