Batman Miniature Game Suicide Squad Slipknot

One of the minor roles in the Suicide Squad movie is a character called Slipknot. Without spoiling it he has only a little screen time..... I know very little outside of the movie about this character. I though that he must be some sort of climbing expert/thief. However a look at the wiki has him as some sort of assassin who uses chemicals on his ropes to make them nearly indestructible.

In game terms he is extremely useful he is very fast, comes with a grapple gun armed with a knife and a bullet proof vest. Makes him ideal to grab loot. But where he truly shines for me in my Bane crew is one ability 'Arrest' allowing him to remove Knocked out Characters by spending a movement and special counter. Now this is something I struggle with in my Bane crew both Bane and his Bodyguard Venom Soldier are cracking fighters dealing lots of stun (which people can recover eventually) But the arrest ability allows me to get rid of them so that they come onto other targets.

So far I have managed to arrest Arsenal, Animated Black Canary and Strix. As well as moving a bomb to my opponents deployment zone in the final turn of a recent game. So pretty useful and all for only 42 rep and $100 funding.

  1. Interesting character and an 'obvious' choice to reinforce your Bane rew by the sounds of it.
Interesting mix of bluey/grey on him too - I like it!

    1. Thanks Joe. Originally he was black and Grey but it looked to chalky so gave him a wash of blue tone and quite pleased with how it turned out.

  2. He looks a bit like James Bond in a flight or utility suit.

  4. Blimey! So the old Firestorm villain makes a guest star appearance in "Suicide Squad" eh? Not quite as colourfully dressed as his first appearance either. But a nice sculpt and a great paint-job, Simon. Does he come in the Suicide Squad boxed set?

    1. No indeed much prefer this version if i'm honest. Yes he does all the main SS members in the movie are in the box. No Enchantress (no magic in the game yet), Rick Flagg is a separate blister. I expect to see Amanda Waller and some Soldiers come out as a crew set soon to.

  6. Nice work.

Is he a single piece model, or does his head detachable? ;)

  8. I say it every week, but I do know NOTHING about comic books. So all I can say is what a tremendously good figure you have painted.

  9. Lovely work Simon, especially how you brought out the details on the back.

Rant begins - Without giving away any spoilers as in the spirit of your post, I was deeply disappointed with Slipknot's character arc in the movie to the point I was thinking to myself ... what was the point of him being in the movie? - Rant over :)

    1. Thanks dude. It was purely a plot point to prove that the incentive to co-operate was real.

  10. Like the mix of dark grey and black. Distinctive enough to be very different but not overly so.

Never heard of this character, but he does sound interesting. Well done mate.
