Walking Dead AoW Leon and Derek

Really had to pull my finger out this weekend to get something finished this week. Have been in a right funk unable to focus on anything or have the urge to paint. Fortunately these two were worked on alongside Sandra and Patrick so didn't need a lot to get them finished.

It frees up a bit of space on the paint table and as its payday next week I can pick up some much need hobby essentials as I am out of Spray Primer, Varnish and could do with a new brush.

  1. We all have peaks and troughs in this hobby, Simon, but at least you've finished a pair of corking figures. Great work on both of them.

  2. Yep, the mojo has its up and down swings, and painting can either be a really enjoyable pastime or a chore (and all points in-between).
You've turned out a great looking pair of characters though, and now have some "retail therapy" to look forward to ;-)

  3. Good to see you pulling your finger out, Simon LOL :-) The minis look great, and clearing a space on the painting table is always good; especially when you've wages to splash out on new shines!!

    2. I ummed and ahhhed but in the end plumped for zed as his posture looked like he was either shrinking away from a zed or reaching out for a survivor

  6. Anything you add to paintedpile is progress and you've managed two great looking figures, so job well done I'd say.

  8. There seems to be a bit of the hobby "funk" going around lately, I've been in it myself for a good 3 weeks. But it's posts like this that definitely help to motivate me - great work, I really like the colors choices on your models :)

  9. Same here ... I can barely get myself motivated to pick up the paint brush as the year reaches its tail end. And nice work on your latest minis too. :)

    1. Thanks fella. I can't seem to focus on one thing at the moment. The projects on the paint table keep changing but no progress gets made on anything lol

  10. Both are pretty darn solid mate. Liking the greens you used. I need to paint stuff with brighter greens like this. All this drab military olives are wearing me down. ^_^

    1. Thanks dude. Yeah I tend to struggle with realistic looking greens. This was a bit on experiment tbh. I need to purchase some different shade I think as I'm still not 100% happy with it.

    1. Thanks dude. Yeah it happens a few times a year I now have a bad cold and flu like symptoms this week which is annoying but may explain my funk somewhat.

  12. Nice figures. Were you practising with green - there's a lot of green, brown and grey in the pictures? I'm not criticising, mind you - just curious.

    1. Yeah Pretty much was doing a batch of 8 minis so cross colours helps speed up the paint process a bit. I want to do some Crooked Army stuff but I am not happy with how my greens end up. I need to invest in some new shades I think.
