Hasslefree Dwarves

Man the weather has been awful of late. I always seem to be at work when its decent weather and its dull. grey or stormy when I am home and have time to take some pics! I managed to snap a few this morning though as per the norm it is brighter as I am writing this post!

For the 7TV day earlier in the month I needed to paint up some more figures as most my Fantasy stuff I have that is painted is sort of a bit scattershot and nothing had a consistent theme. I'd picked up a few bits from Hasslefree/Crooked Dice last year and it was a bit of toss up between Dwarves or Goblins. However Goblins would of meant painting 13 figures vs the Dwarves 6. With time being short the Dwarves won out!

Annoyingly I have misplace the shields for two of the Dwarves I put them somewhere safe so I could paint the backs of the figures but for the life of me I can't bloody find them! I will have to sort out some replacements as the ones in my bits box were to big unfortunately

These two should have shields on there backs but have been misplaced in fact this pic is blurry so will be replaced when I get five!

  1. Nice work Simon and I feel your pain with the misplaced sheilds, as putting thing safe so you can't find them later is something I'm very good at myself 😢😂

    1. Thanks Ray. I imagine when I've replaced them they will turn up.

  3. Ther's nothing worse than 'misplacing' something almost vital - we've all done it - isually find building bits after I've improvised and finished a building.
Great paint jobs and these look really small - even for Dwargves !

  5. Great work on all your dwarves Simon, so annoying when you put something in a safe place, that it becomes so safe you can't find it !

    1. Thanks Dean. Yeah she is one of Kev Whites older sculpts but still a nice one. There are quite a few that are out of stock I'd like to pick up at some point.

  8. Haha, that happens to me all the time! Bits, miniatures... and sometimes even whole boxes!
Anyway, these Dwarves look really sweet, nicely done!

    1. Thank you rross! I am pleased and they made quite the nice little warband. I could do with finding some nice miner models but they seem really tricky to get hold of or if GW quite expensive.

  10. Great stuff Simon! I like that pose of the model on one knee, I imagine that's after it has just swung that hammer taking out several enemies 🙂

    1. Thanks Ivor! I got her in a happy accident as I'd ordered the other sculpt of her with the hammer over her shoulder but they sent this one instead by mistake and didn't want it back!

  11. Never seen hasslefree dwarves before but these are some great sculpts and painted up a treat mate!

Shields not needed on the last two I think

    1. Cheers Dai! They have some lovely sculpts. Sadly on the back of the right hand one is the sort of huge mounting point so it needs something either sculpting like a bag to hide it and the other one I had glued the shield on then took it off then decided to leave the dried glue to make mounting in position easier!

  13. I'm usually not a fan of dwarf minis, but your work here gives me pause, seeing how good they can be when painted well. I especially love the first one. Super job Simon :)

    1. Cheers very much. I do like Hasslefree sculpts. I quite like the ones by Red Box Games and Otherworld though the Red Box ones come up quite small even for Dwarves!
