Another Reaper Miniature finished again from the Chronoscope range. This time its Terrell a Police/security guard type survivor I painted him in a different coloured uniform to my previous cops mainly because I don't think the bandanna would look right mixed in with proper uniforms.
So he I guess he is a survivor from a different city's Police department perhaps AWOL wondering the land scavenging for supplies much like Rick and company in The Walking Dead.
Nice pose I quite like the over sized muscles as well. I'm sure he is gonna stomp some zombie ass. Armed with his nightstick and a pistol looks like he is blasting away whilst about to mid swing.
Nice work on the black uniform there. Really hard to pull such things off when combining with darker skin, but it really worked well here! Good choice on making it different from the others also. Gives the gang a more rag tag feel, like they really are survivors instead of a cult that survived the apocalypse :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Seeing as he was all in black I drybrushed him first with codex grey all over but this seem to bright so I washed all over with badab black and it dulled it down nicely.
DeleteReally nice work on this one mate. Nice pose on this miniature and the paint job really sets it off.
ReplyDeleteCheers Carl, It is a great figure one of my favourites.
DeleteNow that is one tough looking cookie! Great job Sir.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael. I hoping todo a game for Halloween So i'm building up some casts (they are in a state of flux)
DeleteDark skin is really difficult to paint and you've done it against black clothing. The musculature really stand out-nice job Brummie!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne, I find doing dark skin easy than doing normal for some reason!
DeleteAnother great figure Simon. Looking forward to seeing what you do with that Griffin minis priest! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers Dude
DeleteThat is one rock-hard looking dude, Simon! Well done on the paint job.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan.
DeleteNicely done Brummie. The skin tone is especially spot on.
ReplyDeleteCheers Dude, Scorched Brown base coat, Ogryn flesh wash, then a Scorched brown/elf flesh highlight.
DeleteI never really find anything wrong with your figs, even if I were to be ultra-nitpicky they always look good.
ReplyDeleteThis guy on the other hand stands above the rest for some reason. Maybe it's the simple color palette well executed, or the combination of the sculpt with the shading, but he really takes the cake. Nice job!
Thanks Mik, I have to admit my paintjobs seem to be swings and round abouts with some looking better than others
DeleteFeeling a bit skint this month so stop showing me "MUST HAVE" figures. Really like this one mate I really do. Everything from the aggressive eyes to the combat boot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Clint, I'm probably not going to be getting many more figs this side of Christmas. I have plenty of stuff to work.
DeleteI only got all these guys because I sold another big chunk of my Space Marines.
I have a few more squads to sell most likely on ebay when I can get round to it.
Great paint job, striking colors and to be honest I never really looked at that figure closely before. A very nice figure to add to the zombie slaying mix.
ReplyDeleteThanks It surprised me to be honest especially all the pouches etc
DeleteReally nice looking survivor, I've had my eye on him before. You've done a great paintjob.
ReplyDeleteBut remember, its Zomtober, not Survivember. ;)
Thanks LOL ye ye but I have Survivors to paint and no zeds yet
Deletereally like him Brummie. Keep it up. What a huge collection you are getting painted.
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly sir. I guess I've got the bug back for all sorts.
DeleteNice Job. How did you get the creases on the clothing to look so feathery and natural.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I attempt this, its just this solid white line and everything becomes pinstripes ;)
Cheers, I know what you mean a lot of my 7TV figures that wear black suits have that sort of effect. But for a change I drybrushed him with a dark grey it rather than highlighting normally. At first it made the uniform to bright but a wash of badab black toned it down again. I may do this with other figures in black clothing in future it was certainly easier on this guy as there was plenty of detail to pickout.
DeleteGreat paintjob there on a great model.
ReplyDeleteThanks dude!
DeleteSpot on with this one.Really good black on the fabric and nice skin tones too. He looks like the sort of dude who could survive a zombie outbreak.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate.
DeleteThat is a really dynamic figure. The way the nightstick is held is really cool. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteI love the pose as well cheers
DeleteHe really stand out as a Badass cop! Well done!!
