Another random figure I picked up to use for 7TV gaming a female spy with an MP40 a bit WW2 you might say and you'd be partially right as the figure is from Warm Acre Games Hour of Glory Range a Female Partizan figure. however I imagine a lot of WW2 weapons where still around and available so i've change the clothing colours so they are more 70's. I think she will fit in well with all sorts of casts.
Thats it for this week the lurgy from the week before has developed into a really annoying cough and cold so have not felt like doing much at all this week. Hopefully things will pick up next week.
Very nice Simon .
ReplyDeleteCheers .
Thank you Vincent.
DeleteGood job Simon, as you said a lot of WW2 kit in the market for decades after the conflict.i
ReplyDeleteCheers Fran alot of stuff i've read suggest as well as quite a few movies.
DeleteYou could also argue that you were going for a realistic depiction of spy *movies* - and everyone knows that film producers in the '70s weren't at all bothered with historical realism!
ReplyDeleteAfter all, if an Imperial stormtrooper can run around with an MG34 then your female spy's weapon looks completely appropriate :-) .
Thanks indeed, Godfinger and The Ipcress File spring to mind straight away.
DeleteNice job there Simon and I the use of WW2 equipment as it reminds me of those 70s spy dramas on Tv back then
ReplyDeleteThanks mate you are thinking exactly how I was thinking when i saw this mini on ebay
DeleteLooks ace, and as others have said, perfectly the part. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks good. That model fits in well with the 7TV/KKBB feel. A good spot, and a good paint job.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rob.
DeleteLovely job and get well soon Simon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael, nearly there I think managed to getting a decent painting session in last without a coughing fit spoiling the painting.
DeleteDon't worry about the MP40. As long as you are happy with it sod everyone else! Nicely painted figure and no doubt a versatile figure with many spy-fi uses.
ReplyDeleteThere is a nasty bug going around hope you get well soon.
Thanks Clint had it for two weeks now really frustrating when there so much you want to do.
DeleteGreat work, looks like it would fit straight into spy-fi!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate thats what I though.
DeleteI can remember seeing MP40s being used by the bad guys in 1970's shows like "The Champions" and "Department S" so I wouldn't sweat it too much, Simon.
ReplyDeleteI don't intend to Bryan. Not heard of the Champions i'll have to look that one up.
DeleteI guess the props department probably had loads hanging around from all the war movies in the 60's and 70's, or maybe even decommissioned ones from the war?
ReplyDeleteYes I think your right I imagine they where cheap to get hold of as well.
DeleteNice work on the figure mate - now hurry up and kick that bug so you can get more painting in ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks mate. I'm getting there its much more manageable now finished a big chunk of me Nosferatu faction for EotD today.
DeleteI sympathize with you, Simon, I also had horrid cough this week :(
ReplyDeleteThanks Dezmond Know how your feeling!
DeleteNice work here Simon and I do hope you get over your cold. Spring colds are the worst.
ReplyDeleteThanks and thank you Anne. I'm nearly over the worst of it.
DeleteLooking forward to a bat rep on this. I do like the era and would like to see how the game mechanic operates. Also think I could re-use my EOTD urban landscape for it. Will keep watching with interest.
ReplyDeleteI'll get round to doing a game of it at some point. I need to get a few more practice games into get my head around the rules :D
DeleteThis is another fine figure Simon, accomplished with your usual finesse!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate.
DeleteI think you've got her spot-on for that 70's look.
ReplyDeleteCheers Joe.
DeleteVery nice Brummie. I agree with Zabadak. You've really captured the look.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate.
DeleteTough looking lady - wouldn't want to cross her. Hope you get rid of your bug soon too. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteCheers Dean nearly there i've managed some good progress the past few nights.
DeleteNice to see a lady with an MP40, looks like she means business
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott indeed she does!
Deleteshes a good miniature Simon, and get better mate, all the best.
ReplyDeleteCheers dude.
DeleteWhat a great idea. I look forward to a bat rep
ReplyDeleteThank you. Will plan a bit more now I've got my head round the cast lists a bit better.
DeleteSimple but very effective paint work.
ReplyDeleteThanks fella.
