Gentleman's Gentlemen and Taskmaster

Finished off two more figures last weekend really. But I took some pics mid week and spotted a few mistakes that needed correcting before re-taking the pics. Works really ramped up and I can feel the start of a cough/cold coming so hobby time has been sparse this week.

Anyway first up is Mr.Perring a gentleman's gentlemen. Limited Edition figure you only got by buying a special bundle deal. Luckily for me a good friend Doctor Warlock (Drew Wood) had two and sent me one!!





Second figure done is Wargame Foundry's John Bull again another oop/Limited Edition figure I think. Not painted up typically in his usual Union Jack waistcoat. He'll be joining my Criminals as taskmaster (Vice President) Not received the rules still yet so we'll see what happens with criminal gangs.

    Great paintjobs there Simon and I love the Gentleman's Gentleman, every man of status should have one. Actually I have been looking for that figure for ages. Lucky work on John Bull loving the waistcoat

      I was very lucky to get one. Westwind do a clockwork butler and a set of house servants that will be coming out in the second phase I think.

      Thanks very much mate. All together I have 55 painted. 97 to go added from the kickstarter packages lol I'll be starting the Requiem ones at some point in the next few weeks. But there are still more I want to add as well as some of the Vampire Wars figures

    Indeed, very nice. I can't help thinking that the bottle and glasses on the butler's tray are a little on the heroic (!) size.

    I never realised before how much "John Bull" looks like a street thug :-) .

      Thanks mate I thought i'd have a play with the waistcoat. I want to have go at more patterned clothing with some of the Requiem miniatures I have to do

    John Bull comes with his own Bull Terrier. I'll give him this much: the guy knows how to accessorize.

      Subtlety poison people with a drink of some kind I imagine. Maybe your character has to take a test when in combat with him to see if he falls for it and tries the drink.

    Now, the first guy is one I would like to see, proffering the drinks tray, but the second one not so much unless he was on MY side! Lovely painting of course, goes without saying.

    Great minis, Simon! Like others have already said, the treatment of John Bull's waistcoat is really nice. I can almost see the butler traveling with the Victorian Gentlemen offering liquid refreshment between shots. They'd only need a"gun-caddy" now! ;)
    I'm regretting not jumping into EotD kickstarter, but at least I got the Zombicide shipment! Too many neat games out there and such a lack of time and funds for them all!

      Thanks very much. I know that feeling as well. There is so many damn fine kickstarters the AVP one is one I'd loved to have got into but its to close to Christmas for me the kids come first!

    Tremendous stuff Simon. The figures are very nice indeed- but I think what is most noteworthy is your painting- which is fantastic.
    I know I have said similar things in the past, but I think it is worth repratting: Your painting has improved so much over teh time you have had your blog it is amazing. you should take teh time to look back at your earliest blog photos and give yourself a hearty slap on the back for all the progress you have made.
    I would rate you very highly as a painter/blogger and am always eager to see what offering you are blogging about next, even though I don't always have time to post a comment.

      I don't know what to say but THANK YOU very much for your kind words my good man. I have to agree my early paintjobs are totally different to how the recent work is. I need pull my finger out and game some more though!

    Another pair of stunning paint-jobs.
    It's obviously a Nebuchadnezzar and pint glasses with the butler and John Bull's shillelagh armed lower class ne'erdowell is a great addition to your gangland forces.

    These are beautiful figs. Well done. I just love the stuff you have been doing. I so much want to jump in to the period, but have got to stay away. I need a new period like a hole in the head. Keep up the great work!
