Otto Graven Fighter for Hire

Been in the mood for painting some Fantasy figures after finally watching the first part of the Hobbit. Also i'm on the lookout for some Labyrinth or 'Froud' style goblins and stuff for fighting against these adventurers in SOBH.

Otto Graven is a mercenary for hire after being the sole survivor of a party that ventured into a goblin lair in order to clear it out. Not realising the goblins had a pet troll most of the party was kiled whilst the struggled to take down this regenerating menace. Eventually Otto managed to hack it down with his battle axe and then cover it with oil from his lamp and burning the remains. Otto unable to revive any of his comrades he returned a hero with his pockets full of treasure from the goblins stash. Otto has  now equipped himself with the best suit of armour and gear money can buy. With a deep hatred for trolls Otto never goes anywhere without a few flasks of oil and plenty of torches just in case.

  6. That is a lovely figure and a great paintjob. With a few nips and tucks he could look just like the character on first, original Warhammer Fantasy cover.

  8. I would have thought that as sole survivor of a bloody mission, he'd have quite a few psychological hangups! Or maybe, being a fighter, he hasn't the brains to feel fear.

Nice model, by the way :-) .

    1. Thanks No Sense No Feeling. I'm sure the lion's share of the loot and a few nights in the local tavern soon sorted out the kinks and what not :D

  15. The man who has everything. He is a great figure I love the otherworld figures, their bugbears seem very Frond to me. He is very well painted and I hope he doesn't suffer a varnishing mishap. I use Vallejo brush on varnish to avoid that myself.

    1. LOL Thanks yeah I'm on a no buying figures streak at the moment and he's been lingering on the painting table for a while. But I'm pleased. I think he'd make a good apocalyptic survivor though. Have you seen Doomsday?
