Things are slowing down at Brummie towers. Prep for our holiday at the end of August has began so the hobby time is now becoming less. It will all pick up in September when I get back and I am pottering around with various bits.
I have to say a big thank you to both Colgar6 of Colgar6 and the Infinite Legion of Toy Soldiers and Kieron of Cheaphammer!! who both sent me some Necromunda figures they had going spare.
I got the Telekinetic Wyrd and a complete set of Scavvies with Mutations and nicely painted as well! As well as a pair of Delaque Juves who need some weapons to get them back on the table.
Talking of which my recent sale of my Empire of the Dead stuff as well as trading a fair bit has given me some cash to spend and some addition to the Necromunda Collection. So far I've managed to collect the basic sets with a few extras for the following gangs which is a great start. Some especially the later Fanatic releases are tricky or expensive to come by it seems. I think I will concentrate on the first Editions
1st/2nd Edition Orlock Gangs.
1st/2nd Edition Goliath Gangs (the 2nd edition need better weapon choices but there all complete).
Escher.
Delaque.

I also purchased this off Ebay last week its a Wargames Tournaments Industrial set. This was not direct and I managed to get it shipped to me for £50 they usually sell for around £70 plus shipping for painted so I am chuffed I spotted it and managed to snag it. There there different sizes set doubling and then trebling what I have here. I have already looked at some of his other buildings he offers and think they will compliment what I have quite nicely.
There store is worth checking out theres is tons of stuff for sci fi, post apoc, bases, forest bases etc
Wargames Tournaments Ebay Store
I assume when new it comes flat packs like most MDF kits.
It came flat pack. I have glued together the legs of the towers, the ladders and the barriers to the walkways. I need to get a deeper storage box so for know have disassembled them so they don't get damaged. You also get separte barriers that slot in along the edges I've not glued these on as it reduces the configuration you can set up the towers. It covers a good amount of ground. I may pick up a few extra towers later in the year. As I had quite a few spare walkways, ladders and barriers.
Its a good size I think it will work well in most Post Apoc settings as well as Batman, Pulp City and other games.
The barriers that slot in.
Left over walkways, barriers and ladders from this setup.
I need to make some toxic pools and get some boxes, barrels etc to scatter about next.
Lovely steam punk terrain there :)
ReplyDeletelol yes it would for tons of stuff really especially if its got a fantastical air about it.
DeleteThat is just brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAll I did was assemble it! I am pleased with it though.
DeleteSuch a massive setting!
ReplyDeleteWhere are you going on holiday?
Thanks Needs more height but I need to find some deeper storage boxes.
DeleteExmouth in Devon beautiful place.
Quite an impressive set up. It looks a bit fiddly though. Is it solid/stable once you get it into place?
ReplyDeleteIts rock solid. What makes you think its fiddly?
DeleteWonderful looking terrain, Simon. Very "Blake's Seven" ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes would work well with loads of settings.
DeleteI wish that terrain had been available when I was playing Necromunda. It makes me want to go hunting up the Attic and dig my old necro stuff out. Top job!
ReplyDeleteDo it!! I wish it had been about as well. But the original Necro terrain still looks good. imo.
DeleteNow that's a build! Puts my meagre efforts this week to shame. Off to check the link, many thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt only took me a couple of evenings of glueing and leaving it to dry. Need to find a deeper storage box so I can assemble the towers and leave them that way. I think the mdf will get eventually get damaged if I keep dismantling it every time.
DeleteGreat looking terrain, Simon, and as you say, very usable in numerous settings.
ReplyDeleteCheers Bryan. I think I shall pick up another 3 story tower to boost the set. Need to get plenty of scatter terrain and such. I have something a bit special planned for one piece. But I am awaiting stuff to be delivered so I can start building it :)
DeleteThe terrain looks brilliant mate; it promises for some good gaming I reckon. :)
ReplyDeleteYes I hope so to. I will have to concoct some kind of spy base out of it :)
DeleteI concur, it looks gorgeous, I believe you got a real nice deal! Looking forward to seeing any games takin place on those walkaways :)
ReplyDeleteThanks yes I can't wait to use it either :D
DeleteIt looks great. I am tempted to pick up a set for my undercity terrain.
ReplyDeleteHave a good holiday.
Its a really nice quality kit mate. I'd paint it on the sprues before assembling to save time. Thats what I plan to do on any additions in any case.
DeleteVery impressive stuff.
ReplyDeleteWe were in dawlish warren a couple of weeks ago and I persuaded the wife to go to a different beach for a day and we ended up at exmouth - lovely beach, cliffs and rockpools - and plenty of jelly fish, all dead.
Have a nice holiday.
Cheers fella. Yes some friends of ours have just come back from a week at Torquay and they said the same about the jellyfish.
DeleteTerrific terrain to play on- looks fantastic Simon.
ReplyDeleteCheers I think I need to get some crates and barrel stack to put about on the walkways as well.
DeleteGreat find and great addition to your PA project. Of course you need toxic pools and barrels! Otherwise, what are the characters going to fall into when they fall off those catwalks (and what are catwalks for, other than for people to fall off of?).
ReplyDeleteYes indeed on my list of things to get is both barrels and crates to spread about.
DeleteThat's a fantastic set up for so many games. I agree that you need some vats of boiling chemicals below.
ReplyDeleteI think so will be good for batman as well I reckon.
DeleteImpressive terrain, Simon. Perfect for representing that multigenre, cinematic staple, the steam and flame factory.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed it does. :)
DeleteWow - that terrain piece is not only impressively detailed, but huge! Nice one.
ReplyDeleteIts just the small set as well :)
DeleteThat is a lovely terrain set Simon.
ReplyDeleteWell done getting together some of the figures you'll need (with a little help!) and you made a good start n the terrain too - that Industrial walkaways set looks excellent too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe :) I need to work out gangs and paint schemes next.
DeleteThat's a nice looking terrain set.
ReplyDeleteCheers fella :D
