Zomtober Week 2 Here come the Girls

Busy week this week managed to get Daphne and Velma finished completing the Scooby Apocalypse gang. Bringing my Zomtober total upto 5 completed figures so far. I have two more figures in progress but time has escaped me with going to the Derby Worlds show yesterday to get them finished in time.

Fantorical - Blaxkleric
Saturday Mornings - Ivor Evans
28mm Victorian Warfare - Michael Awdry
Miniature Mayhem - Terry Silverthorn
Cheaphammer!!! - Kieron
Lead Reckoning - Fred Jackson
Never Mind The Jankers - Roy Williamson
The Wargaming Addict - Wargaming Addict

Also got a game in of 7TV on Wednesday night with Pulp Citizen using the Free Scooby Player guide mission 'The Search' It was good way to test out the tweaked Scooby Apocalypse Profiles I made using Jorge's awesome card creator.

The Game was 30 Ratings aside. With The Scooby Apocalypse crew on one side vs Dr Oetker and his zombie horde and pride of joy Maruading Monster Mr Squishy.

Law enforcement officer have recieved a phone call from Professor Kipling muttering about being chased by the walking dead and a giant slimy monsters and something about his Trioxin 5 recipe wanted by some Terrible old boy called Dr Oetker who wanted it for his own ends. The local Police a bit spooked by this talk of a giant slimy monster asked the Mystery Inc Exterminators to give them a hand in investigating this mystery and set off to find Professor Kipling.

Mystery Inc Exterminators. Assisted by local Law enforcement officers.

Dr Oetker's, Mr Squishy and a horde of Zombies.
Dr Oetker's zombies and Mr Squishy surge forward in search of the Trioxin 5 recipe carried by Professor Kipling.

Officer Sandy one of the local cops searches near the containers seeing some shambling creatures coming towards her pops off a shot with her pistol downing one of them.

Shaggy and Scooby advance looking for clues for Professor Kiplings whereabouts.
Ever resourceful and clever Velma investigates the first clue and out of the shadows appears Professor Kipling! (PC rolled a 1 on the first clue finding the Professor straight away!)

The Professor found so quickly. Fred, Officer Mike and Daphne all take on the shambling horde advancing down the road thinning there numbers with accurate pistol fire.

Forming a firing line the horde is thinned substantially. Mr Squishy leaps forward in a giant bound smashing Officer Mike into paste.

Pics where to blurry so a summary of the final turns.
Dr Oetker and his cohort of zombies exchange fire with Officer Sandy and Velma thinning his escort down and get injured by Velma's shotgun. The good doctor returns fire killing Officer Sandy and wounding and stunning Velma.

Mr Squishy and the child zombies enter into a swirling melee in the centre with Scooby, Shaggy and Fred killing a few more Zombies but mr Squishy kept regenerating. Daphne however kept shouting and sqealing distracting Mr Squishy and his friends. Trapped in combat they were unable to reach her. (Danger Magnet forcing all strikes to be made at Daphne but because they were engaged I couldn't attack Fred, Scooby or Shaggy or leave combat for fear of receiving the inevitable free strikes.

The Professor quickly left the scene Velma recovered and backed off, Daphne continued her distraction whilst Mr Squishy was hacked and chopped by Fred and Shaggy.

The game ended with 3 Vp's  to 0 to te Mystery Inc cast for getting the Professor Kipling safely off the table.

This was more to try out zombies in the 7TV setting they are quite fun enmass but chew up a lot of Plot Points to get them moving. I think I am going to pick up some special zombies and reskin some of the creatures from the Paranormal guide to add a bit of variety. They are very slow to but tactics mitigates this somewhat allowing you to move another 2 zombies within 6" a 2" move for free when activating a zombie.

Here are the profile cards I made. These are basically the same as the ones in the Free Scooby fan made guide. Just tweaked Daphne slightly swapping Hide for Lucky and increasing her fight and shoot stats. (This is all in the Producer's guide PG 16 printed book). with weapons added/swapped. These may need resizing to sleeve them. I made a word document and pasted these into it as you just right click the image and change the dimensions to 130mm wide by 88mm high

  2. This Zomtober is really proving a tour de force for you and Scooby Doo, Simon. Smashing painting, and a game in with PulpCitizen too - I'm so jealous of all these wonderfully painted minis you two guys get to play with all the time!!

  3. Darn it! I would have gotten away with it too, if it had not been for you meddling kids!

Seriously though brilliant. I even have a "Mystery Machine" from Mc Donald's that would fit with these.

  4. I don't remember Velma looking like that when I was younger. She's...erm...grown...

I do, however, remember Daphne looking like that. Vividly. :)

    Nice work.

  10. Two of the better sculpts from the 'gang', (though all of them are good) and you've brought them to life.
The 7TV aar was a good read and very entertaining, but my money was on Mystery Inc. from the outset.
simple but very effective terrain - must have been a blast to play.
