Didn't intentionally paint them in the order of melee and ranged but it just ended up this way. Its been quite a productive week. Besides these 3 I have nearly finished some more Walking Dead minis that have been lurking on the paint table for to long.
The first two are the remainder of the Crooked Dice Wasteland Warriors pack. I struggled with the hooded ones staff a little as its quite busy and it has no clear purpose. Is it a weapon, a detector of some kind a torch or any of the above lol! Again similar colours were used but I added in ochre into these with the signature red item or items.
The other one was more straight forward I added in some different brown more to differentiate her more from the Katana and staff armed one I finished previously. Originally I painted the M16 metal then changed my mind and tried to do it in black like the real life weapons would be. I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
The third figure finished is Virginia by Four A miniatures. Obviously it is based on Warrior woman from The Road Warrior. The bow doesn't quite match the movie representation but can understand having it like this is far easy to cast and more robust. I tried to match up as close to the movie as I could with what paints I had available. Again a spot of red to tie her in with the others. My only critique of her and Tina is I wish they had been a few millimetres taller.
All my Vuvalini so far. With my two Furiosa's (Crooked and Hasslfree)
All my Wasteland ladies so far I have a few more figures to do and a character if I can find the bits for would like to to try and recreate. It also depends on a parcel arriving from the US from my friend Johnny Grogan.
An excellent selection of figures, Simon, and the new additions are superb. I can tell that painting and collecting these must be a labour of love for you.
ReplyDeleteCheers Bryan. Yes i am enjoying this project immensely its nice finding models for it. As well as some that fit without being clad in the usual bikinis.
DeleteAll three of them are cool, but right, I'm so intrigued about the first one. Is that a geiger counter with a flashlight on top? What a mystery!
ReplyDeleteCheers Suber. indeed I know right I have no idea. Could fit many settings especially 40k, Necromunda or Wreck Age's dystopia.
DeleteVery nice additions Simon, particularly like your version of Virginia
ReplyDeleteThank you Dave! Yeah I had to have one as soon as I saw it. I love my Mad Max stuff. Wish there was more of them about.
DeleteExcellent work, Simon. Love the new additions and the entire party looks truly formidable indeed. Hopefully we'll be seeing them in a BatRep soon?
ReplyDeleteCheers buddy. Yeah certainly I am not sure what system to use them Across the Dead Earth is one for certain.
DeleteFantastic brushwork Simon!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray!
DeleteAgain the browns and blues are working very well and the whole group look good together.
ReplyDeleteThanks I am glad they look like the all belong to the same faction but yet all standout as individuals.
DeleteGreat work. This lot look ready to raid the wastes.
ReplyDeleteThanks MBG Indeed ready to take on all comers!
DeleteHoly jeez you're killing me. Great paint jobs. Like the colour combinations for an apocalyptic setting and some of your shading is great. The eyes are excellent. Wish I had that level of skill.
ReplyDeleteThanks man! Very kind of you to say. Its all just practice and practice. I stall have my whoops moments. The hooded lady's eye needed correcting and Virginia's was like the third or fourth attempt before i was finally happy with them.
DeleteFantastic work as always Simon!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michal!
