Painting at the moment is all a bit random. I am mainly painting what I feel like doing at the moment so prepare for some randomness in the next few posts. Anyway another figure has been finished my ongoing Post Apocalypse collection and this one joins my Vuvalini or Many Mothers warband. I love Kev Whites sculpt and own many that he sells through his own business Hasslefree miniatures but I also love picking up the sculpts he does elsewhere for other people.
This is one of those miniatures sculpted for another range. Raging Annie is from Bad Squiddo Games and is a sculpture of the owner Annie geared up war fighting alongside her Ghosts of Gaia miniature range. The Ghosts though very nice are to sci fi looking for my tastes though I am tempted by a couple that I could convert perhaps. Raging Annie has more modern day looking equipment so fit in well with a lot Crooked and Hasslefree miniatures.
I love the little Squiddo backpack she carries. I painted it like the one on her website. I quite like the idea that really it is a sentient mutant or some such that warns her of danger. Protect her from being attacked from behind.
Armed with an Assault rifle, a machete and carrying a largish looking hand gun she armed pretty well and has armour and lots of padded armour to protect her in the wasteland.
The band of fighters is growing nicely I have two more to add at some point but they are at the basing 'stage' in my prep amongst some other figures
Well done SImon, a great addition to a beautiful group!
ReplyDeleteCheers Phil. Yeah really enjoyed sourcing and putting this group together.
DeleteExcellent, you do make a good job of leather painting. Nice figure as well and she fits in the band like they were ment to be together.
ReplyDeleteThank you sir! It is just AP Leather Brown, AP Strong Tone wash, Highlight edges with GW (oldschool hex pot) Snakebite Leather then wash with AP Soft tone.
DeleteGreat paint job Simon, the group is certainly growing
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave. I have no idea on numbers yet for 7TV Apocalypse as haven't seen many of the profile cards. I aiming for around 12 for now.
DeleteLovely addition, Simon, you seem to be really enthused with both this genre and your painting, and its great to see. I hadn’t noticed the Bad Squiddo backpack before - lovely addition to a really eye-catching mini.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon. Yeah it a cool addition to the mini. Cheers I always have loved Post Apocalypse as a genre its one that I won't get rid of.
DeleteIt's a superb figure and I must get round to painting mine, although I will be using her as the leader of the Ghosts of Gaia.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bryan. I do like the Ghosts figures just a little to sci fi for my Apocalypse games
DeleteExcellent. Fits in with the group very well. AND a decent level of realistic clothing. just what would be worn after a disaster.... well maybe not the Tutu!
ReplyDeleteCheers Clint. Yeah painted in the appropriate colours they all fit together well. Who doesn't like a bit of decoration though :)
DeleteLovely job on "Annie" Simon, and the Vuvalini warband is looking superb!
ReplyDeleteYour choice of minis followed by your brushwork has created a Band Of Sisters that might have been made for each other :-)
Thank you sir! I am glad they gel together like they do :)
DeleteShe is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barks it is a lovely mini!
DeleteWhat a great sculpt, very dynamic and done with your usual panache; the splash of colour, hair and skirt, rally makes this model stand out from the crowd.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. Yeah when I first saw the green on Kev's sculpting page I knew it had to be a must have!
DeleteAnother splendid miniature Simon and a welcome addition to the crew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael. Adds some fire power with that blaster of hers!
DeleteLovely addition to the clan Simon!
ReplyDeleteCheers Terry it growing steadily but surely one by one they wander in from the Waste to be embraced by there sisters :)
DeleteCracking work mate. Looks just as nice as Annie does in real life!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carl glad it worked out as planned then :) Cracking lady Annie is!
DeleteBrilliant miniature and paintjob Simon. I like the heroic pose on her, reminds me very much of these older 40k miniatures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wouter Yeah now you mention I suppose it does look like old 40k Not a bad thing though :)
DeleteGreat as always Simon ! :)
ReplyDeletebest regards
Greetings Michal thank you my friend!
DeleteExcellent stuff!
ReplyDeleteCheers bro!
DeleteSo wonderful. I love her! Charming!!
ReplyDeleteThank Suber!
DeleteLooks great. It’s an interesting pose in how she’s holding the rifle, not the usual simultaneous shooting and stabbing concept a lot of sculpts go for.
ReplyDeleteCheers dude Yeah with how big it is it would look really odd if it was like that.
DeleteExcellent work Simon ... she is more than a worthy addition to the group :)
ReplyDeletePost apocalyptic princess Merida. 😀
ReplyDelete(Great painting as usual).
Lol Cheers Stew I will tell my daughters that!
