Then there was Three! |
Another very enjoyable model to paint. I have the two mastiff war dogs started. But also picked up 5 more adventures to add to the party.
Currently reading through the AD & D Players handbook also enjoying various tales of daring do by set in the Forgotten Realms.
Your painting is quite good mate. And I love that you take the pictures outside as the day light is so much better light!
ReplyDeleteThe dwarf fellowship?
Thanks very much, Its been nice to take outdoors pics they look so much better.
DeleteI can't help thinking that he has a huge egg whisk in his hand. I know it's a mace [keep telling myself that], but...
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah I suppose it does.
DeleteLooks great Simon. The sculpts are really full of the little details, I like the flasks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mate, I think its why I like them so much they have such nice little bits of kit like the potions and ropes, grapples and stuff.
DeleteGreat work Simon , very funny this figure
ReplyDeleteCheers
Thanks Vincent
DeleteLovely figure Simon, well painted and photographed. Another miniature with plenty of character!
ReplyDeleteThanks the range is full of character.
DeleteI think this might be my favourite yet, great job Simon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael :)
DeleteAnother lovely figure mate, look forward to seeing the party in their entirety!
ReplyDeleteLooks like im finally gonna get round to starting my own dnd campaign soon
Brilliant wondered what you've been upto lately been very quiet lately :D
DeleteThat's a nice looking group and you're getting into AD&D. There's such tremendous variety of figures to choose from. I hope you like your foray into the world of Fantasy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne, I've always enjoyed Fantasy tales, stories and such. I need to pick some monsters and bits up as well. I think some sort of evil magic user is in order to be in control of the zombies.
DeleteNow that is a fun figure. Well painted as always. I really like Clerics in D+D but I think most people seem to think it's their "right" for you to heal them! And bitch like hell if you don't. Clerics best class ever. But only heal followers of your own faith.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I do like Clerics in games of played they get a little bit of both worlds. Weapons, Armour and cast priestly spells.
DeleteVery cool figure - he certainly looks ready for a long trip. Best, dean
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean, They all carry some nice gear beside the usual armour and weapons.
DeleteI do love me a good potion :)
ReplyDeleteIs that usually vodka and orange is it?
DeleteLooking good Simon. I like the flashes of colour you bring in - in this case blue and also the detail you have brought out on the face.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate. Yeah it needed a splash of colour.
DeleteAnother great looking figure MrQ!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Mr.R
DeleteGreat work and very characterful too. I have a real soft spot for Forgotten Realms, I love the setting, mist go back to days past playing AD&D and my mate bringing it totally to life.
ReplyDeleteThanks OK, Yeah I got introduced into FR through Baldur's gate RPG then the books followed
DeleteEnjoying the additions to your 'party'. When does the real looting 'dungeoneering' start...? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, Not sure yet Waiting for the Otherworld/Crooked Dice rules to come out. But I have the SBH Dungeon expansion as well so might give that a go.
ReplyDeleteNeed to build up some critters and creatures as well. This will be a slow burner.
Working on terrain ideas at the moment as well. (researching mainly)
Is it just me or has your painting taken a jump up lately? These things are looking top notch!
ReplyDelete(Not to say your earlier stuff wasn't good, but these just look somehow more something...can't really put my finger on it...)
Thanks very much. I think I'm taking my time as I'm doing these individually rather than 4-5 at one time. The sculpts are great tbh easy to paint.
