2013 Summary

I've been going through the posts of this year and comparing them with what I was up to the previous year.
I was quite surprised by the results to be honest! I was expecting there to of been more miniatures painted this year than previously but after adding them up that wasn't the case by a long shot!

Miniatures Painted:

2013
115 painted 93 x 28mm and 22 x 15mm
2012
147 painted all being 28mm

Games Played:

2013

4 Games Played 3 Empire of the Dead and 1 7TV

2012

2 Games Played 1 No More Room in Hell and 1 7TV

I really though I had painted more figures this year even If I'd finished off what's sitting on the painting table it still would only hit 130. I think after some further contemplation what boosted the 2012 total was speed painting a big chunk of mantic zombies removing those 30 evens up the totals some what.

Games played is definitely an improvement it being 100% more than the previous year. It will be one of my targets next year to double it again hopefully. Painting wise I shall just plod on and see what gets done.

Whats next? Who knows! Still got plenty of figures to paint up for Empire of the Dead, 15mm Aliens vs Predator Project, more 7TV as well as my Fantasy figures. Once things settle down back to normal in the New Year hopefully I can get back into it don't seem to have the mojo for it. All I've managed recently is to check all my paints and added a bit of water where necessary. Painting wise I managed to apply a second coat to all my 15mm Aliens that I had started. I've accumulated some more bits and bobs for 15mm terrain mainly some pots, and bits of plastic to make some buildings out of.

  1. Still plenty of minis painted nonetheless, don't lose sight of that mate!

Now on the gaming front; 4 evenings within the next 12 months could take care of that! Time to get some gaming on!

  6. Not too shabby. When you think that's just under 2 28mm figs each and every week and some 15mm on top. Sometimes I can struggle to get a single figure done in a week. Yes you could rush more out but it's all a balancing act with hobby, family and motivation.

And twice the amount of games. It all sounds good to me.

    2. I have one club member who has only painted about 20 (28mm) figures in the last 4 years and that was all in one day!

So your output is really not too bad at all. And to a much higher quality!

  7. Good number still to hit there. I might do the maths as well. One of the benefits of blogging. I'm lucky to have a mate who is into the same games, so we can play every other week. Looking forward to your 2014 output.

    1. Its certainly interesting especially to look back through the previous years. I might have a look through 2011 just for the sake of it :)

  8. That's a good amount of painting there, mate! Not shabby at all! I'm pretty sure we must live fairly near eachother if you want to try and up your 'games played' total in 2014. Very much looking forward to reading about your AvP project. Funnily enough, I was toying with Aliens or Terminator as a 15mm 2014 project just the other day!

    1. Thanks buddy Indeed we must Chris. I have some bits on order to boost it a bit as well. I need to have a terrain making session something I lack for all my games. I'll have to make up some goals around that a bit more.

  10. Well you doubled your games even if the painting was a little down. So that makes 8 games you've got to fit in next year!!

  11. As for the Christmas/New Year period, every year I hope to get masses of painting done during the holidays. And every year I get *less* done at this time than I would in a regular (non-holiday) week. I'm never quite sure why my hobby time suffers like this...

  14. Well, it appears to me that you have done some serious painting this year, and you can bask in the thought that even if there were slightly fewer figs painted this year, the standard of them was top notch- just as important in my book, so take a pat on the back me old mate, and Happy New Year!

It's interesting to see you've counted your miniatures, I wouldn't really want to know how much I've done for some reason :P
