S.D.Z.A Freak of Nature Operatives 1 & 2

Been quite a busy week in preparation for my youngest daughter Leila's fifth birthday. We spent   yesterday celebrating at Gulliver's Kingdom in Matchlock Bath my feet are killing me but we had an awesome time and the kids had a blast.

Not usually my cup of tea I enjoy superhero movies and books etc but its never been something I've want to game but I have to admit I really enjoyed painting these up. They will be part of some sort of Militant organisation (yet to be named) leading normal soldiers on whatever missions are required. I shall have to get two more of these chaps and use the other heads on them. I think I may have to go back to the Pulp City figures and get back to work on them after Zomtober perhaps also depends on what shiny distractions I pick up next Saturday at the Derby World Wargames show. Say hi if your going and you see me i'll probably be wondering around bewildered as usual and I promise I'll try to take some photos!

Anyway I haven't though of background yet only names so far.

Codename: Lupine

Codename: X-Bolt

  5. Great paint, Simon. You've brought out the character of both sculpts.

Lupine looks so angry because "Wolverine" was already taken or because he's now named after a flower? ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupinus

    1. Thanks Finch. Lupine by my research is to be 'wolf like' and something I've always associated with wolves. Remus Lupin from Harry Potter for example is the lycanthrope dark arts teacher.

  8. I want those figures! I just hate the shipping and Exchange rate. I look at other figures I can get cheaper that I want and get more...

  9. If you're going to use superheroes alongside regular soldiers then their powers will need to be quite mild, I think. Something like the old Captain America, rather than Superman! But you knew that already...

So, these models are military specialists/civilian "advisers"?

    1. I like to think of them as mildly enhanced humans. Having discussed the background in more detail with Drew. The powers will vary in strength. So these leading a few soldiers will be on the bottom tier. More powerful In than a human but not more powerful than other stronger primes/F.O.Ns

  13. I don't want to game super heroes either but they will make for interesting villain bosses.

  14. I like the unified colour scheme - it hasn't dawned to me they are actually wearing the same type of clothes when I was looking at the resin miniatures! Great choice of colours, subtle and military :)

    1. Thanks mate. I didn't want yellow/blue or all in black as I though it would look boring. so went for this one instead.
