Having painted up the zombies in my possession. I've now turned to survivors.
First of the painting table Is Laurie by Hasslefree miniatures. Loved this sculpt ever since I saw its greens. Have been looking forward to getting hold of it. Went for a totally different colour for the bow purely as I thought a camo bow in brown and tan would seem to on purpose the blue/grey looks more like a scavenged weapon. Laurie will also get added to my other low tech armed survivors for Across the Dead Earth.
Need to get my other survivor finished for the weekend its A Walking Dead themed Wargames Factory Male Survivor conversion. Watch this space come Sunday.

Lovely work Simon. That green is so subtle and the bow looks super. Like the idea of her just grabbing a sports bow or something from a store or some such place. As an aside I do hope you don't have to lie down in all that slime to take these lovely pictures of yours? That is some serious algae :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Its the remains an old concrete post base the steps it was attached to was remved. The concrete is absolutely rock solid I can't demolish it in fear of damaging the fence post its attached to!
DeleteIn all fairness it not so much slime but green lichen and it had rained. It gives a good effect for the photos though :D
One more great looking mini Simon :) keep it up...
ReplyDeleteThanks mate!
DeleteWhat a great figure, Simon. She's high on my shopping list.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan. Yeah one of my all time favourites I think.
DeleteGreat figure and great paint job. Absolutely stunning figure overall.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Mike!
DeleteVery nice Simon, the bow looks great and like the colour combos
ReplyDeleteThanks Ad :D
DeleteCan't really go wrong with a Hasslefree miniature, can you :-) ?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go slightly against the flow here: the figure looks really great, but I'm not at all sure about the bow. I think I'd have gone for a more traditional plain colour, or for a very fine-patterned green/grey/brown camouflage.
Thanks. Each to there own is not what I was trying to get the figures story to be. I wanted it to look like it was found by accident not purchased or selected by choice.
DeleteOutstanding job on a rather cool mini, Simon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Finch :D
DeleteVery cool mini dude! Your paintjob is killer, great job Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much I really enjoyed painting her. I have a few more Hasslefree miniatures in the queue to paint up. Some are stripped figures I had previously though so may be familiar to some.
DeleteSpot on mate. While the bow my not be everyone's taste I think it looks great. Definitely a scavenged bow.
ReplyDeleteThanks Clint thats exactly how I wanted it to look scavenged.
DeleteI like the Edward Hopper parody as well. (Page Banner)
DeleteShe is such a great sculpt, and you have really brought her out with your painting...NICE :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Toni! Hopefully I shall have some of your range to paint in the near future ;)
DeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate!
DeleteFantastic painting, and yet another figure on my wish list for when I finally make another order with Hassle Free.
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks that list must be getting as long as your arm!
DeleteI love both the colour of the bow and that of the figure, spot on brushwork; I'm unsure though if I like the figure's posture or not.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. The pictures are a bit hard to show its sort of twisting and drawing an arrow at the same time it looks great to me dynamic but not silly.
DeleteI was thinking of getting this one myself and seeing how good it looks painted up will definitely have to add it to the shopping list.
ReplyDeleteThanks she is awesome mate. Love to see what you do with yours when you get it :D
DeleteShe's quite beautiful Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate!
DeleteVery nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteCheers Phil :D
DeleteFantastic work on Laurie; an exquisite sculpt and excellent paint-job. :)
ReplyDeleteHow does she scale next to the AtDE minis?
Thanks dude. Perfectly well mate.
DeleteLove it! Really cool mini too.
ReplyDeleteCheers Buddy :D
DeleteKatnis, great job Simon
ReplyDeleteThanks mate.
DeleteLovely one, you certainly made the most out of this one, absolutely a great work!
ReplyDeleteCheers Suber. They have got some awesome ones coming out. Waiting for the metal versions for some though
DeleteI like the bow very much, nice and bright, a great focal point :)
ReplyDeleteThanks dude ;)
DeleteExcellently done Simon. Got to say you've done a good job on the miniature and I'm definitely wanting one myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm still painting zombies for Zomtober - though I've now got a new blog and new username (the google+ damage was too great to repair, as I just couldn't reply to messages). Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures before month's end and show off my zombie horde.

Thanks its an awesome figure. I Think you always do a better job on something you really like as well.
DeleteHope you get your blog sorted out. We have had no Internet or tv properly since Thursday and nothing since Friday morning. Todays post will go up still thankfully as it was half done apart feom adding in pics. I managed to get it done Thursday evening though it was ay a snails pace.
Very nice use of colours ... the green, neutral brown, blues of the bow and her hair colour all combine very well.
