Well this week the tournament pack was posted and having a read through its going to be a lot of fun. A list of various items (besides an army of course) was also listed and one of those things was that some stone objective markers for the final game would be needed.
The four larger stones mounted on 40mm bases will basically will be put out in a North, East, South, West of the centre of the board of which the 30mm based stone will be located.
I decided to make the four pillars quite tall and the central one I have made a stone table. I shall have a go at etching some runes or lines into the pillars and paint them with an OSL effect as if there is magic coursing through them. Well that is the plan anyway :)
With it being brighter but colder this week I have managed to get some decent photos of my first few Britanan's again. So for you viewing pleasure see them below.
The next post will be about some more post apoc ruins I've been working on. They just need the final touches adding to get them finished off for the weekend.
Very...nice?! Well-executed, though distinctly creepy models.
ReplyDeleteAre these pillars to represent ancient stones? If so then they are perhaps a bit too regular; I'd consider breaking down the straight lines somewhat.
There meant to be magical stones. In the game at any rate the can explode and all sorts :D
DeleteWhile I will not be getting involved with Relics, I am enjoying reading your antics!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I'm with Clint on this one, but it is good to see you having fun.
ReplyDeleteI can't handle all this over large head mini malarkey. Good to hear your going back to some nice and sensible post apoc next post. Nice painting though dude!
ReplyDeleteHang on in there Bob... first Vampifan's SDE and now Brummie's Relics.!?! Have some of Zombie-kinds most fervent fans really fallen off the Zed-wagon.!?! Probably not ;-)
DeleteThere will still be plenty of zombie and post apocalypse themed things still.
DeleteMy starter kit for the Britanians arrived yesterday, so I hope to get them painted up and on the table soon!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I have had my trade stuff arrive so have been busily building and prepping the minis
DeleteIntriguingly strange; I'll reserve judgement on the stones until they're painted.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the finished objective markers.
ReplyDeleteThe Brits look great, the whole force will be superb, I have no doubt. :)
Oh my... you have fallen for Relics, Simon. But I don't mind if you paint them all as well as these. Great stuff and looking forward to seeing how both those ruins and stone markers turn out.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed they are a very refreshing change to paint as well with them being chunkier than most normal figures.
DeleteGreat start on the stone pillars and very nice painting on the robot-grenider.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much :D
DeleteThe stone pillars are suitably imposing relative to the grenadier. Good start (says the guy with zero experience building terrain). Curious to see how they turn out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Finch. They will be useful for objectives in other Fantasy games as well I think.
DeleteMore cool grenadiers; and love the new banner!
ReplyDeleteCheers I have plenty more to get cracking on!
DeleteAh very cool Simon, look forward to seeing them runed and painted.
ReplyDeleteNow aren't they lil' nasty buggers! On the banner too!
