Thoroughly enjoying all the Salute posts today :) Some fabulous looking games and models coming out.
Hobbywise this week I played a playtest game on Friday night. I can't mention publicly much about it yet. Thoroughly enjoyed it some bits could do with being a bit more clearer to understand which has been mentioned but more on this later in the year when allowed to talk about it more.
Painting wise done a few bits here and there on various figures. Completed wise I got the first two members of a Penguin Crew for Knight models Batman game. Its only a small crew at the moment being the basic Penguin set with the addition of a Titan Thug to boost it to around 200 rep. I've not tried the game but I've read plenty of game reports and its another game I can play with the good gentlemen Pulp Citizen.
The first two finished are a couple of henchmen The Royal Penguin (Assault rifle) and Blue Penguin (Shield). I have got to smooth down some putty work on a couple of the other characters then I can begin the painting on them also. The figures scale is 35mm which I've had a bit of difficulty painting mainly as even though they are slightly taller there features such as hands and faces are a lot finer.
Always been a fan of the penguin character in tv series and cartoon series characters. I so wish they would do a Devito version but sadly I think there are IP issues with those movies characters. There are a ton of henchmen options for this crew. Which I hope to add to later in the year :)

Spookily I picked up the Penguin's Gang myself yesterday at Salute. But having seen these wonderful paintjobs of yours Simon, I'll be putting them to one side for a while, so people will forgot your great-looking minis when I post up mine :-)
ReplyDeleteVery envious that Pulp Citizen is in your locale, as I'm certain he'll prove a great opponent for this game. Pity you don't fancy moving down South :-)
Thanks very much mate. I'm sure yours will be equally as good :)
DeleteIt was quite amusing when we got chatting about on facebook as PC is very local as in less than a mile away! I may move South at some point its on the wishlist to move to Devon or Cornwall one day perhaps.
We plan to get some more games in soon I have a 7TV game planned in the coming weeks.
Really looking ace my friend. And I need to finish my joker gang!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Johnny get to it!
DeleteI do like those figures, Simon, as I can think of lots of uses for them as either Gangers or Survivors in a zombie apocalypse setting.
ReplyDeleteCheers Bryan. Yes I have to agree they would come in extremly useful for a lot of settings.
DeleteThey look great mate. I think the colour scheme works very well, and you have done a fantastic job as always.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to play against these minis, although if I am playing Ivy I will get spanked, so time for to get cracking with Black Mask. :)
Thanks very much mate. I still have to lean the game but get painting! I don't care who they go up against.
DeleteTrust me, given how badly Ivy's crew performed, Black Mask CANNOT be any worse! LOL. :)
DeleteLove these Simon and have them on my bench at the moment. Frustratingly I broke the weapon of the third one and in a huff through him back in the pile, perhaps I'll have a go at fixing him at some point.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael. I have him and the main man himself up next. I found the arm a pain to position and have had to fill in the joins on both arms. It is quite a thin piece. I'd drill it out and just put some rod in and paint that.
DeleteWhile I am not a BATMAN or Penguin fan I do really like these figures. The guy holding the car door is a terrifically exciting sculpt. Very well painted indeed.
ReplyDeleteCheers Clint. They have some wonderful miniatures in the range. The Bane Merc crew is also tempting.
DeleteA couple of very intimidating characters, Simon. Superbly painted too as always. I particularly like the shield's broken window and the masked guy is pure scary.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Dean. The shields windows is all sculpted in all i've really done is paint it and pick out the detail and damage.
DeleteHola amigo
ReplyDeleteGrandes figuras si seƱor
un saludo
Greetings J.D and thank you :)
DeleteCouldn't resist any longer ;-). They look great.
ReplyDeleteI'n still unable to choose what villain gang to collect, Penguin or Joker.
There marvellous miniatures aren't they. Thanks. Go with the ones you like the most.
DeleteLooking good sir - very nice work.
ReplyDeleteThey're nice looking models, though I wouldn't have spotted any "penguin" connection if you hadn't mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteThe thugs for penguin are quite generic sculpt wise. Some like black mask, Joker and two faces are more themed along there gang leaders style. The Penguin being a wealthy man hires lots of mercs.
DeleteWow... stunning paint job there!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. I've had several of the KM range for a while now, but building them has taken me longer than I'd anticipated. Several of mine are awaiting putty and primer, so you're miles further along than I am!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate. I only have the five so far they do require a fair bit more than normal my Titan Thug has been a pain.
DeleteThey look really nice! They look equally able to fit in your spy and apoc gaming too. I've been really eyeing Joker, Harley, and the joker gang for some time now....this does not help lessen the temptation! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL I know the feeling so much shiny miniatures coming out at the moment!
DeleteThanks very much and yes I think they will fit in well
Really nice work on them Simon! Very cool indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Bob :)
DeleteFantastic paint jobs as usual mate. I have to say I really like the Blue penguin model.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dude. Yeah its a pretty cool mini. I really like Penguins thugs there is one or two odd poses amongst them but the majority are sculpted nicely.
