Gifts and Gaming.

Another busy week here at ville de Brummie.

Had a pleasant surprise arrive on Thursday in the form of a small parcel arriving from the lovely lady that is Anne O'Leary of O'Leary Miniatures containing some fab looking miniatures from Anvil Eight Games.  It contained several figures that were part of there successful kickstarter Aetherium. Anne very kindly left a message on a previous blog post saying that she has some perfect post apoc looking miniatures going spare that would compliment a lot of my own post apoc collection.

A HUGE THANK YOU ANNE :)

I eagerly agreed and now they have arrived. I must say they are lovely sculpts. There made from Resin by the looks of it. I've not had to clean them up yet but I'm quite excited to get started with these. There are the four human figures and the bottom pieces make up two cybernetic/robotic hounds.

The game Aetherium by the looks of it some sort of uprising against corporate or religious masters. What I have is a selection of the rioters and the hounds are from the corporate/religious faction.

Riot Girl and a guy called the Masque (he has a V for Vendetta type mask)

Tinder and Tov I really like Tov lobbing molotovs.
Not sure what I'm going to do with Tinder its a great mini. I'm pondering whether to convert the banner in to a two handed weapon of some sort.

The Shattered Crown beta testing.
Thursday night we play tested another game of The Shattered Crown click this LINK for more info from a previous post. What was good this week was that we had some of the prototypes painted up and finished so the game was a more nicer playing with painted figs. I'll do a post tomorrow with the finished figures I did.

Not wanting to miss out on using these fably painted figures by Battle Brush Studios we used the six randomly armed minis as the Hellesburne elite unit the Great Blades.

The swordsmen unit I finished this week on the field of battle along with a hero figure painted by Sigur of Battlebrush Studios

The Great Blades hack into the House Khra Black Halberdiers having just help destroy a unit of Khra Spearmen along the Hellesburne Warbears.
Apparently my dice rolls were better than Yoshi's!

The game was a lot of fun. I managed a victory destroying two units, his mage and routing the Crossbowmen. The cards and random activation is a lot of fun.

  1. What a lovely present from Anne. I could certainly find a use for Tov and his Molotovs as a survivor in Zombicide.

  2. Cracking gesture by Annie - and some terrific miniatures to add to your already impressive post-apocalyptic horde Simon :-)

Shattered Crown looks like it is coming on tremendously well too, and I'm certainly looking forward to having a copy of this in my hands at some point.

  4. What a lovely gesture; Aetherium was the game that the Dark Templar did a lot of the design work for.
