It Escaped from the Lab.......

Been thinking about colour schemes for my zeds. Now this figures isn't a Zombie as such its from Darkson Designs AE WWII range a OORD Homonculus I though this could be used again across multi genre a Zombie tank, failed experiment, super mutant etc. This was only a quick paintjob only 2 hrs tops.

I'm just not sure about this scheme for all my Zeds though I can't help thinking the incredible hulk. What do you fellas think I have no other zombies yet they are on my list to get. Probably after Christmas TBH when cash flow is better.

  1. The first three photos are too dark to make much out but the other photos show him off really well. I like the colour scheme, although I must admit, I too, was thinking Incredible Hulk. The beauty of painting zombies is that there is no right or wrong colour scheme - just whatever works best for you.

  2. Really struggling with photos at the moment. The last two where took in the office where i'm based this week. The others at home.

I think I might go greyer as a first go i think i'm quite pleased with him. But its something i'm going to 'mull' over.

  3. It is a nice looking scheme. I think the Hulk thought stem from him just being so huge. The first zombies I ever painted were for a board game called Last Night on Earth, and I painted the Zeds with GW's rotting flesh. It made sense to me.

Now, I prefer a greyed flesh for my zombies, inspired by Vampirfan. It's a pretty basic method (the way I do it).

  4. I like him maybe a bit more ooze but I'd have in any zombie horde especially as a tank.

  5. Yes i kinda played with the colours the base coat for the flesh is 3 parts Codex Grey to 2 Parts Goblin green.

Washed with a codex grey wash
    then badab black wash
    Drybrushed with the original colour.
then used 2 parts goblin green and 1 part codex grey to highlight.

I think it is very similar to Rotting flesh so i will probably pick some up. But i kinda just picked this up off my leadpile and decided to paint it in one go.

  13. This is a superb mini for a variation on the Frankestein flesh golem. I like the permanent shiv. Thanks for the reveal; I didn't know this piece existed.
