Again these may find some use in my campaign not sure when or why but we will see where my addled brain takes me with it.
This particular pack was from Artizan Designs Wild west range. Bat Masterson and Dodge City Marshals. Initially I was going to use the guy in the centre and the guy on the right as the fit the Victorian London theme but not wanting to waste a miniature decided to modify the first guy on the left and trimmed down his and re-sculpted it into a Bola hat shape. It looks quite good I need to get some greenstuff and have a play with it as the milliput I used was a little bit difficult.
I have two gangsters from pack Street Toughs from Copplestone gangsters range. Which have both been converted slightly to fit in better. The guy with his arms folded had an elasticated waste band on his coat so I have puttied over it and made it a little bit longer I like the pose of this guy as he has a cosh in his pocket which isn't quite apparent from the pics on the site. The other guy I just added a brutal looking shortsword from the reaper modern weapons sprue.
Group shot so far. |
I have a pack of Wargames Foundry Armed N'ver Do Wells to add to these but the Empire of the Dead Gentlemen's boxed set are next in the queue. The first one from this set is done but I will get some more finished and do a post on Wednesday.
Good work, very nice bases!
ReplyDeleteThanks, wished I'd switched to these 30mm lipped bases age ago. I though they look to big and plain but since starting EotD I wished I'd done it for all my others :D
DeleteNicely painted figures and your conversions work well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bryan.
DeleteVery characterful. Really setting the scene, I may have to have another look at EotD! Curses too many ideas already!
ReplyDeleteI've been caught up in this period of history as well rather than just Empire of the Dead. Hence the Victorian inspiration for No More Room In Hell.
DeleteAbraham Lincoln vampire hunter is also very tempting but not going near the wild west yet......
You've done a good job with these tough guys.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dude, any games of ATZ appearing on the horizon?
DeleteExcellent figures, full of character!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant work and a great find, might have to get some of those.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael It surprised me and was interesting that you can find minis that fit in from various different Genre's!
DeleteI really like your Boer's you've done and considering getting some!
Cracking stuff mate!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Ray- these are great characterful minis!
ReplyDeleteLovely work there, great minis and you have brought them to life
ReplyDelete@Ray, Xander, Laughing Ferret and PanzerKaput. Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteReally great work, Brummie! Nice mods. I like the bases as well.

You should look at West Wind's London Thugs and London Mob packs. I'm working on these right now. Got the flesh painted so far. The Thugs have a photo posted. The Mob has only a photo of one guy. If you like, I can post photos of them to my blog if you want to see if they'd be for you or not.

I want those as well all lovely figures! The two converted gangsters where bought off ebay for £2.70! I want some Zendarians as well
DeleteVery nice work on those ne'er do wells!
ReplyDeleteThank you sir!
DeleteThey look good Brummie and if you hadn't mentioned that one was a conversion then I doubt anyone would have noticed - nice one !
ReplyDeleteI suspect you'll now be trawling all the Old/Wild West ranges for more gangs, but what about an Oriental Tong too ? (They're fiendish I hear)
Not sure about the Tong yet someone on LAF has started one. But from the Artizan I shall certainly get both of the Pinkerton packs. I also want some of the Design 28 steam and Steel range now sold by Black Pyramid Gaming as well as Ironclad and other stuff choice choices choices.
DeleteNeed MONEY! though Don't earn off of it.
These are looking great! I'm envious at your progress on EotD. I've run a few demos with the free rules for my friends, but so far all I've been able to get done model-wise is cleanup and basing of the vampire and werewolf factions. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteCheers, You've played some games though! Halfway through the Gentlemen set now.
DeleteExcellent stuff, lovely figures. I have a 'love/hate' relationship with greenstuff. It's great but takes getting used too. Get yourself a small tin of vasoline to keep your fingers moist, it stficks to everything!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate. Not sure about he greenstuff yet and its expensive compared to milliput. Every time I go to pick some up I choose miniatures instead!
DeleteI do like these figures and you've painted them up nicely. I've just gotten my first Foundry figures and I love them. There's so much room for fun and creativity with them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I like a lot of Foundry's ranges. I've only recently delved into the Victorian Era and was quite surprised how many people have bits and bobs in there ranges that are useful.
DeleteNever painted Foundry, but seeing these makes me want to collect a few.. nice work!
