'Elementary dear Watson' (sorry couldn't help it) These two are sort of hired mercenaries for Empire of The Dead. Rules for these 'Gentlemen and Jackanapes' can be found here and are part of an official add on (free mind you) there are a number of similar characters, Cedrice Hyde, Circ Du Noir Ape Man, Lady Luck (no pic on the website but a beautiful figure), Mr Chop to name a few. They all offer various extra abilities to your starting faction. All very characterful miniatures they will be gracing the pages here as I acquire them. There are some rumours floating about of some additions to the range painted figures of Peelers (Police) Le Strade, Queen Victoria and some armed monks have been circulated about but nothing has been officially confirmed or denied yet.
The Holmes and Watson figures are fantistic Watson in particular is well tooled up with Sword, Stakes, Pistol and Lantern (pistol is optional as the figure also comes with a rifle). Holmes just has a trusty revolver but of course his main weapon is his sharp intellect.
I can see these getting a lot of use in various games. Perhaps even making an appearance in my NMRIH 1888 campaign mentioning that I've acquired some card buildings, ruins some hedges and other bits (warhammer/warhammer 40K) from ebay they need a little patching and tidying up but I got them very cheap so I don't mind at all so have a fair bit of terrain now. (note to self need trees)
Enough waffle here are the pictures.
Lovely stuff Brummie! you've done a cracking job on them, and it's interesting to hear about the options for Watson!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dude. I need to reread there rules because I couldn't see the choice for both weapons.
DeleteNice work on them, especially on the cloaks. Also love how Watson looks bad ass, and Holmes is like.. mm lets go this way..
ReplyDeleteGreat work on some iconic figures Brummie!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran. I think I may need to get some more Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson figures. Its become and addiction
DeleteGood work on both figures. Watson is really well tooled up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan. Watson is great I may get another to do the Rifle option
DeleteExcellent work! I love the lamp!
ReplyDeleteNice work on the figs Brummie.
ReplyDelete*Puts Anorak on* Holmes never said "Elementary my Dear Watson!" (at least not in the books... TV and Film maybe... but not the original books). *Takes Anorak off* I used to live with a girl who was writing her doctorate on the stories of Sherlock Holmes. (And likewise sorry but I just had to....)
Thanks. To be Honest I haven't read the books. nor is it a proper quote it just's sounds like something he would say
DeleteThese are very nice, now all you need is a vampire Moriarty.
ReplyDeleteThanks I have a Moriarty Figure its a possibility
DeleteGreat work Sir! Love the Watson character particularly.
ReplyDeleteCheers Watson is the partially the reason I got hooked into EotD. Such a characterful figure
DeleteGreat paintjobs as always, and that Watson sculpt is killer, I wasn't familiar with these figs before.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mik as I said to Michael its what drew me into EotD
DeleteVery nice Brummie. Love what you've done with these guys. They have an almost Steampunk feel about them. I think it's Watson's glasses that do it. Very distinctive.
ReplyDeleteThanks the whole EotD theme though not quite apparent from the initial release of miniatures has a Steam Punk twist.
DeleteTwo very cool characters you have there.
ReplyDeleteCheers dude
DeleteAnother pair of ecellent figures to add to the mix Brummie
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. Watson is certainly going to get a lot of use tooled up as he is.
DeleteLovely looking chaps Brummie.
