Wreck-Age New Toys!

Lead pile additions this week I picked up some Wreck-age figures from a guy on the Lead Adventure forums. Only the two for now I plan on using them for the Forest Kin faction for Across the Dead Earth but now having them in my hand I really quite fancy trying out Wreck-age as they are really, really nice looking figures. More of these I shall certainly get!

The one with the Bow is a Drifter leader (I think a con exclusive but not sure) and the other a Staker Outrider. They size up well with my Across the Dead Earth figures but will match up with Hasslefree and Crooked Dice miniatures perfectly. What is also awesome they are on 25mm round and based in a similar fashion to all my existing post apoc stuff and  also already primed white. So are ready to begin painting!

Photo is from my mobile phone so a bit crude but you get the general idea.

The Drifter Captain?

The Staker Outrider

There have been some new additions since I last checked I love this set Its on my list to get for sure.
Animal Herder with Capybaras It would be perfect for some sort of objective for Across the Dead Earth.

  1. That's a very odd-looking bow, I think!

I do like the idea of trained "attack capybaras", though :-) . Completely unlikely, yet strangely appealing. Or I suppose they could be food animals...

    1. Wreck Age is an RPG/Skirmish game hybrid. The Capybara I think are more food animals than attack elements. They have a ton of different types of boar from explosive to scrap carrying beasts of burden.

Capybara is just not something I'd really thought about as a source of food but when the world has ended and there not a lot of choice food wise it makes sense.

    2. I thought that about the bow. But if you google modern bow there are some very strange shaped ones though they seem very functional :)

    1. They are indeed beautiful. I dunno I think when you actually think about films like mad max, The Phoenix Warriors and other films of the 80's they fit the Post Apoc theme really well.

    1. I hopefully shall put the brush to them this weekend. Debating on whether have a first attempt at stringing the bow but it seems like it will be a bit tricky as the bottom part of the bow is touching the base. I think I'm going to leave and have a go on a more normal shooting pose.

  8. Lovely figures Simon. I like how the chap with the bow is wearing scavenged/improvised armour. And as others have said, I like the changing art in your banner.
Have you read S.M. Stirling's apocalyptic/fantasy series? It should be right in your sweet spot if you haven't.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  10. When we were starting out with Across the Dead Earth, Mat from Wreck Age was one of the first people to get in touch and support the project, offer advice and actually put his own money into the KS, where others might have seen us as a competitor. As far as I am concerned Wreck Age and the gentlemen behind it can do no wrong.
