Crooked Dice Pandora King

Well off of the painting queue this week is this lovely lady from Crooked Dice miniatures. The rather buxom Pandora King (Version 2) Sculpted by Ernst Veingart (who has done a good number of sculpts for them now) was a joy to paint. I've tried to keep the face simple as I end up ruining them by adding make up!

Also touched up my Hasslefree Alexander by adding in eyes, touching up the flesh and giving his suit a blue inkwash to tone down the highlights a bit.

Got a game of  S.D.Z.A in as i'm helping with playtesting. It plays really quick and is easy to pickup once you get started. Looking forward to playing some more of it for sure.

Also playing a game tomorrow night with some of the ATDE guys  a new game called The Shattered Crown.

Next week on Tuesday sees me visiting Pulp Citizen for a game of Pulp City can't wait!

Dept X agent and Squaddie

Couple more figures completed off the paint table this week that have been lingering there for far to long. First up is an unnamed department X agent for when extra characters or small missions require a lesser well known person to take part.

The second is another squaddie in civvies ready to join up with the rest of my agents. Toting a Sterling smg he adds a bit more firepower to the undercover operatives that I already have done.

Have been slowly going through my  Spy Fi collection adding in eyes and touching up some of my older paint jobs. I don't fancy re-painting them all from scratch so adding eyes that I was to scared to seems to have worked well.

The Wild Ducks are now no longer blinking from the flash!

Crooked Dice Tweedy Mattison

Doctor who is not really my thing and so when I picked up the set from Crooked Dice it was mainly for the lovely policewoman figure to use with my 'Not' Hot Fuzz Characters from Hasslefree miniatures. They look a bit naff in comparison now to how much better my miniatures turn out these days. I may go back and strip them perhaps at some point and redo them.

Anyway this has meant he been put by the wayside as a bit. But mooching around for something to inspire me after Christmas I started work on Tweedy. Finished him off last week adding the last few highlights and then the base took some pics in bit of dry weather Saturday afternoon. He'll come in handy for 7TV as he comes under the Department X cast so he can Join Hugo Solomon and Miss Pandora King.

The Alien drones are based and finished but I've forgot I need to satin varnish them so they'll get done and photo'd again for the weekend doh!

7TV The Wild Ducks Military Cast

'The Wild Ducks'

Officially the 13th Commando regiment. but - if you can contact them, and can afford them - you can hire 'The Wild Ducks' a band of soldiers available for those jobs that can't be done by the book. Performing missions usually for Queen and country Captain Charles Mallard otherwise known as 'Drakey'  leads his men on top secret missions. Whether it is to remove from power a tinpot dictator, capturing dope smugglers in South America or Arms dealers supplying weapons to warlords in Africa no job is to small  or to dirty for his highly trained soldiers.

Finally finished my first complete cast for 7TV 250 ratings worth. More when I can also add in Hugo Solomon and Pandora King. These soldiers can then be used for Department X. The figures are nearly all Crooked Dice Minion miniatures packs of Minions I Rifles, II SMGs, III Hand Weapons and Minions Specialist III with 2 extra dogs  the only figure that is not is the Marksman's body whose from Westwind's SOTR British Sniper pack with a Crooked Dice Minion head.

I use two sets of  'Fighting men' beret heads and a Military man head for Captain Mallard (using some of Crooked Dices great range of head accessories). Those without berets I sculpted on folded berets under the epaulettes on there shoulders mainly so I could use the cracking heads that come with the minions.

To show ranks I just added the appropriate markings to the fronts of the shirts. You can add grenades to some of your soldiers as wargear but I didn't think of adding them until way after I'd started painting them. I've made a 4 clusters of 3 round grenades (triangle shape) out of putty and plan on having 2 sets of stun grenades (blue) and 2 sets of explosive (probably will be green) but can't decide on how to add them to the figures yet probably will add a metal clip and that can hook over the models carrying them or perhaps pin into the bases somehow.

Credit has to be landed at the feet of Doctor Warlock who helped me out with the background a great deal. I've posted a link to his profile as he has quite a few blogs under different themes.

This is a scheduled post as I'm off on my jollies this week returning Friday so I'll respond to any comments then. Enjoy your week!

The Whole Cast of 'The Wild Ducks'

Corporal, Captain Banner (military man head added) and Sergeant Murphy.

Minions I Rifles all with fighting men heads.

Minions II with one fighting man head and the rest sculpted on berets.

Minion Specialist III, Fighting man head added and two extra dogs added. (you only get one in the blister)

I really enjoyed painting these 3 guard dogs up especially doing different markings on them.

Marksman SOTR British Sniper body with a Minion head added.

Really wasn't sure what to about the camo nettings so just a few shades of brown. I think you'd call it Urban but its not based on anything real.

Department X: Hugo Solomon and Pandora King

Hugo Solomon is the dashingly attired and super effective head of Department X. His top secret department investigates and deals with all manner of threats to the country, and Solomon is usually right at the thick end of the action. Equally capable of wielding a withering put-down, a beguiling smile or a karate chop, Department X’s Pandora King is devastating in every sense of the word.

First up off the painting table to be completed is Hugo Solomon just grabbed him and finished him off in two sessions. Finished Pandora off a while ago but more pics can be found of her here.
Hugo from a few angles.

Hugo Solomon and Pandora King.

Picked up a few more vehicles off ebay for my 7TV games another Police car to go with the mini a Ford Anglia and a VW Van which will be used for the goons. I may get some decals for some signage not decided yet.
