Wasteland Raiders and Mutant.

With having the 7TV Apocalypse Kickstarter arriving and the Burrows and Badgers ones I felt I needed to tackle some of the backlog before adding even more to the paint queue. So feeling all Apocalyptic after having my kickstarter arrive I had a rummage and found a bunch of Raiders that had been started (mostly just a bit of flesh or trousers done) and dug out my Mutant Brute (I had this from when Westfalia owned the figure but it now belongs to Crooked Dice) who was just sitting primed.

I got the first three were finished earlier in the week hence a different background on those  in the pics below these had the most work done so were quicker to finish off. I had noticed my phone was struggling to focus without a closer background so I have experimented a bit with the backgrounds. I think I need to get some sort of nice backdrop but not sure what to get or how to go about it.

These are all EM4/Moonraker miniatures with the first one being a conversion of the Savage with flamethrower. I think the head is from a metal Chaos Marine set and I got him second hand and he came with it. Rather than have a second flame thrower I went with converting it into a pneumatic speargun or something but it could also pass for a cutting tool I suppose. I made the spears from flattening and filing some paper clips into shape. I used some left over putty to make a crude pouch.

The Flamethrower guy is the original of the one above untouched again from EM4/Moonraker. The guy on the right was a gift from my good friend Tony Yates and was a giveaway figure from a BOYL event at Wargames Foundry and he very kindly sent it me to go with my raiders. So big thanks to him its a very lovely miniatures and fits in perfectly.

My Mutant Brute (resin) and the final figure from the Wasteland Kickstarter that Westfalia ran a few years back. Crooked Dice now own the range and he will be up for release on their webite as Karl gets around to adding all the kickstarter items to the store.

All my Raiders/Savages together a mixture of EM4, Moonraker, Crooked Dice, Foundry, Prince August, Hyacinth Games and Brother Vinni.

Who Runs Bartertown?

My wasteland ladies have arrived they have been based and the few mold lines removed. All that needs doing is priming and they are ready to go. Whilst working on these I have managed to get a duo finished (Well its on a single base but they really count as a pair).

This also the final figure from the Wasteland Kickstarter I backed a few years ago. There was another miniature but the KS owner decided the sculpt was not good enough which is a shame as it would of been spot on for Lord Humongus. Currently the molds have been sold on which is a shame as I would love to get a second set for some conversions.

Actually I tell a lie! As I still have the Post Apoc Ogre to do from that Kickstarter but I am unsure what to do with him now. Whether do do him as a large human or paint him to be be a super mutant hmmm.

I like my mini's to be functional and originally apart from his brute strength came with out any weapons. So converted this one slightly by adding a the large hammer. Loosely based on the weapons used in the Thunderdome fight scene. In hindsight I perhaps should of made a spiked mace instead as after researching images to paint them up thats what he seem to carry mostly. But never mind too late now.

When the weather is better and brighter I will dig out the full set and take some pictures of the set.

Westfalia Wasteland Raider no 4

Nearly got all the Westfalia Kickstarter minis finished now. Finished off the fourth one this week. I really like this especially the scarification on his body makes him stand out more. He has lots of nice little details like the rat skulls through the chains and the feathers spread about as well.

Four down two (well one and half kind of) to go.

Getting a nice collection of raiders together

WIP of Master Blaster. Made him a hammer from a thicker than normal paperclip and a battering ram trimmed down to form the mallet shape for his head.

Did a bit more on the HF Madison mini. Ditched the chain idea after drilling a hole in the hand have decided to make a spikey barb wire wrapped club instead. Looking into adding a wristbow and some other bits I think.

Westfalia Wasteland Raider no 3

Another Post Apoc raider type finished this week. Another female to join my all female gang. Armed with a shotgun, knife and grenade. Another Westfalia Wasteland kickstarter figure. Very nice I'd like to some more figures of this type from them in future perhaps.

My four female raiders so far. I have another from Mad Puppet WIP as well as a second Furiosa started but from Hasslefree miniatures this time.

I know followers come and go but I seem to have lost quite a few this week. I was wondering if there is something folks would like to see more of?

Westfalia Wasteland Raider no 2

Another Westfalia Raider finished this time a female with a nice flail and shield. No idea if this is based on a movie counterpart either way its a cool mini and will be one of my Scrappers in my Female Raider gang.

In total this brings my Raiders upto 8 next up is the female raider with shotgun. But I want to get some scatter scenery finished for the weekend so that will be next :)

Busy Week, Batman, Buildings and Buttocks!!

Missed Wednesday's post this week but it has still been a busy one hobby wise. Tuesday I visited Pulp Citizen's domain for our 350 rep Batman game I mentioned last month. As well as working on some terrain and painting mini's!

Before I delve into the weeks goings on. Does anybody have any spare Crossbows and quivers from the Fireforge Foot Sergeants boxed set. I am after about 5 for some post apoc conversions and prepared to pay a fair price for some if anybody has any knocking about unwanted.

Batman Game.

I made a few tactical deployment errors to start with which was not putting all my gang the full 10cm on to the board and placing my objectives in awkward spots. My Titan thug and a borrowed tube prisoner tied up the left flank and eventually the rest of my gang managed to throttle the centre and right hand side kicking Black Mask's crew off two of his objectives allowing me to claw back some much need VP's resulting in I suppose a minor victory of  33vp to 31vp (or a draw IMO) at the end.

It was another hugely enjoyable game it last a lot longer but took a little bit longer to get going as it was the largest game played so far and had more figures to manage. I am thinking of starting up another crew possible LAW or maybe even a Batman crew undecided at the moment but leaning towards a LAW crew.

Terrain.
Inspired by PC's new terrain that he has finished recently has given me a kick up the arse to get some work done on the Mars Attacks Ruins I started bloody age ago. I've dusted these off and split the project in half. I have got all the small scatter and the small ruins bases textured and primed. Next job is to get it all painted then will get the bigger ruins done.

Painting.Painting wise I have been working on two figures this week the intention was to get a female raider finished armed with a flail and shield but I got distracted by a second figure I was beginning to basecoat using spare paint from the female raider........

Anyway the figure I finished is this guy as you can tell its a very 'inspired' by version of Wez from the Road Warrior. I only started doing the skin and got carried away its a fab sculpt and i've really enjoyed painting this figure. Even the bloody buttocks!

I really hope that Westfalia Miniatures put these up on general sale at some point I'd really like a second set. I'm very glad I managed to back this kickstarter as for the moment there KS only!!!! Hopefully the female raider will be finished next week.
