Batman Miniature Game Nyssa Al Ghul.

Another character crossed off the list for my League of Shadows. Another Sidekick for them and is a mobile shooter with a grapple gun. Not quite figured out how I plan to user her yet I am thinking of running her with the Alt Talia (crossbow) and a load of Ninja's and agents. I only have 5 figures left to paint and all the current LoS models will be painted!

I love the model and pose but hate the tactical rock she is standing on. I'd rather it have been a rubble heap than roof tiles.

Batman Miniature Game Talia Al Ghul (Tournament)

This is a conversion of Talia Al Ghul. This version is to be used for one of the very first Tournament cards. This version has a Crossbow and Knife instead of a Katana. So I picked up a second model and have used a hand/crossbow from the Wargames Factory set.  I decided to go for a blonde this time as I want to do the Comic version with raven black hair. I had a play with the black leather suit giving it a purple hue. I did a layer of dark grey with a cold grey highlight. Gave it a Purple Tone wash then once dry a dark tone wash to darken it down again. I think it turned out ok its meant to be subtle.

Zomtober 2016 Week 4.......Fail....Ninja'd!

Zomtober Week 4.........Ninja'd quite literally!

Week 4 is a fail for me. Haven't had the mojo todo anything for it. Played in the Batman tournament last weekend had me all enthused for painting BMG and ended painting a loads of Batman stuff instead.........

Nevermind we will see if the itch is scratched and I can get back on track for week 5!

Anyway Ra's Al Ghul (Neeson Version) I finiished ages ago as I just really liked the model. However the ninja's put me off as I don't like painting black. So decided to tackle my phobia and force myself to have a crack. These were all primed black so didn't need a lot really just touch ups to the primer and the eye slits, weapons painted appropriate colours.

Most the ninja's share very similar stats just the odd trait here and there changes there use.

This is the contents of the League of Shadows Starter.
The Starter plus the additional ninja blister.

Ying is one of the Standard Ninja's his attribute is climbing claws and carries the katana a nice double blood weapon that has rerolls to hit and to wound!

Yang again has the same stats as Yang however his defining attribute is Combo with Katana increasing his attacks as spending 2 counters gives him 3 attacks. Netting him 4 double blood attacks with rerolls. What makes him more deadly is if he can be 'Inspired' or 'Kill them!' by a leader or a side kick potnentially pusing his attacks to 4 which when combo is applied gives him 6 attacks!

Lotus is a bit more special he costs nearly 17 rep more than either Ying/Yang but carries Shuriken and has the rapid fire trait allowing him to increase his Rate of fire from 2 to 3 allowing a barrage of shots against a target. Lotus also comes with Dodge allowing him to try and avoid missile attacks and reflexes allowing him rerolls for it. Lotus also carries a katana so is not shabby in combat either he has 1 more will power allowing him to move that little bit further or that extra attack after a run.

Seeker is one of a pair that come in the Ninja booster and armed with a bow. Seeker has no combat weapons as such but carry a bow with standard arrows and poison arrows that cause paralysis. Seeker usually ends up with nightvision goggles, extra ammo (poison arrow) and either hidden deployment or climbing claws if the funding allows.

Shadow is more of a trickster type ninja. Shadow has undercover giving him a bonus move allowing him to move further forward. Shadows main obvious difference is he carries a Bo staff which only causes single stun damage however it has reach so he can attack without being in base to base and is handy so has rerolls to hit. Shadow's really purpose is block los of the enemy with his smoke bomb. Again usually he gets extra ammo for a second bomb. Blocking shooters for a couple of turns to get the combat ninja's closer to the enemy.

My entire League of Shadows collection so far. Interestingly DKR Bane and his mercs can be use in this crew giving a lot of choice and combos.
Also this week I finished off my official Knight models objectives, Ammo, Loot and Titan. I now have two sets (including my scratch built ones) so I can now run dem games with people down at the club.

Batman Miniature Game Lady Shiva

Finally got Lady Shiva finished well as finished as she ever will be. Felt a bit of a struggle to get the final bits done on her. Lady Shiva is a Sidekick in a League of Shadows crew but can also fight alongside the Birds of Prey. I don't see her in crews very often and it will be interesting to try her out.

League of Shadows Bane Crew BMG

Well some new leadership is in order for my Mercenaries for the Batman miniature game. I have a new version of Bane to lead them this time the Dark Knight Rises or DKR(movie version) he has slightly different skills but is still great at knocking the crap out of people and KO'ing them but converting all that stun to blood damage is a struggle with all versions of Bane. So as an experiment I have decided to switch my crews affiliation (I lose the Venom Soldier as he is Bane only) to League of Shadows I get more options for Sidekicks, free agent and henchmen wise but can only take DKR version of Bane. There is one character in particular as to why I have switched affiliation.

First up of the new leadership is the main man (in my eyes anyway) DKR Bane. I really love the iconic pose of this model. The only annoyance and real a shame was the casting quality of it. It was so plastered in mold lines and had a terrible one down the right side of his face meaning I had to more or less file the eye socket and eyeball into shape. Paint scheme wise I pretty much copied the colour scheme from the movie (which surprised me how much dark blue was in there rather than black). Positive thing was that he was a single piece model.

Downside to this Bane doesn't count as large so can be knocked down by other normal size characters, does not move as fast, loses the lethal blow attack and finally the master fighter trait (+1 to hit). The trade off he has combo unarmed which means for every 2 unarmed attacks he dishes out he gets a 3rd free so can dish out a lot of attacks, strategist gives the crew 1 more strategy point so can take extra strategies or better ones, Desensitized means regardless of damage his will power doesn't get reduced so he can still perform to the max until he goes down. Bane also has true love Talia which means if she becomes a casualty he gets +1 willpower and +1 attack until the end of the game. Taking of Talia.........

Here she is! Talia Al Ghul will be his sidekick (replaces the venom soldier bodyguard points wise) she is not as monstrous in combat but has a katana which does double blood damage per hit and she is quite quick and agile with acrobat Talia can't romp about on her own as she is likely to get mobbed but paired up with someone they can be a nuisance together. I had Talia used against me in the tournament and she chopped up Mohawk quite ably. Colour scheme wise I didn't want to go all in black like Knight models did and went for brown leather and cream riding jodhpurs. (Much to Kieron's amusement with his love of Jilly Cooper novels!) I think she fits in with the mercs in this colour scheme more.

I think If I was to go the ninja side of the LoS I would probably use other characters instead of Talia (Unless I get hold of Talia's alt card)

Finally a different Free Agent this time Deadshot gets replaced with DKR Scarecrow. Now this guy at a glance doesn't seem to do a lot. Not great in combat his drug spray is short ranged though potentially useful against a clump of henchmen. But the reason why I'm taking him is for one special trait 'Death or Exile' This character can target one ko'ed miniature within 20cm from him, the targeted miniature becomes removed from the game as a casualty. This is an awesome trait similar to arrest but with a range of 20cm! Meaning he can hang around behind Bane and remove the characters Bane puts down. Well thats the plan anyway. This guy was easy to assemble just comes in two pieces body and the out reached left forearm/hand.

As you can see its still fluffy with Bane, Scarecrow and Talia (though there is no movie Talia so  far) all starring in the The Dark Knight Rises movie.

At the moment the new list is as follows

DKR Bane
Talia Al Ghul
DKR Scarecrow
Smash with Loyalty Tattoos (gains bodyguard trait)
Mohawk with Climbing Claws
McGregor
Dallas with Ammo + NVGs
(cheesy some will say but really my only range threat)
