Bit of a quiet week on the hobby front. Back to work this week however still stuck with my hour a day first thing and managed to do a colour or wash each day and got all the Supply Tokens from the game Walking Dead All Out War set finished.
Sunday this week saw me head off to Newark to the Other Partizan show. It was my first time there Its a decent size show and had a good variety of traders, display games and demo games. Had a good natter as I bumped in to various friends and online acquaintances. The highlight being Ray Rousell of Don't Throw a One North of the border.
Some cool looking Hazmat types.
Spotted a bunch of new cool minis in the Crooked Dice stand. These guys are themed on the Anthill mob and are on 20mm bases and stand roughly around 20mm tall.
Really like the crows. Wished i'd got some now could use them for Burrows and Badgers.
The Northumbrian Tin Soldier stand was excellent and it was great to see all the really cool painted figures.
Loot wise I collected my Children of the Fields kickstarter from Crooked Dice and grabbed some bases for a load of Trees I keep threatening to base and finish off. I also got the new Super Cooper Post Apoc vehicle and a Stowage pack for my Interceptor kit from Crooked Dice.
Only thing missing in the pic is this years Mantic Walking Dead All Our War Event pack otherwise known as the Peg Leg Dale and Walker Rick set. Last years was the Lee and Clementine from one of the mobile phone games. Unfortunately the guys on the stand forgot to bring some with them. However I still purchased the booster and they are shipping me one out with free postage.

Coming up in September is another 7TV day this time at a local game store that opened this year. Called Board in Brum and is located on the outskirts of Walsall a few minutes from junction 10 of the M6 motorway.
I am not sure what cast I am taking yet. I hope to try and use it as an excuse to paint up a new cast for it. Giving me a break from the Walking Dead stuff I have been doing and saving some for Zomtober which will surely arrive quicker than expected.
A productive evening last night saw me clean up a good chunk of stuff I can potentially fit in a cast.
Bit of putty basing this morning before work. Hopefully they will be dry and I can get some spray priming done tonight or tomorrow.
Great photos Simon and it was great to finally meet up!!!
ReplyDeleteAye Ray it was indeed good to meet up!
DeleteSome great looking stuff coming down the pipe. My wallet is feeling rather worried.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Ha mine two it is quaking in its boots.
DeleteThat looked like a great day out for you. Finally, someone is making a decent Lord Humongous figure from "Mad Max 2".
ReplyDeleteIndeed he foes well will with those done by Westfalia a while back. Which also will be re-released under the CD banner to.
DeleteGreat! Thanks for a photos!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Michal!
Deleteall good stuff. Much to both admire and look forward to you doing.
ReplyDeleteThere is indeed. I am loving all the vehicle conversion kits. They are perfect for diecast cars!
DeleteGreat progress and swag Simon. It doesn't what Crooked Dice bring out, they always tempt!
ReplyDeleteSo much goodness coming out there Children of the Fields stuff coming next month would have some perfect stuff for your Witch Hunter gaming.
DeleteBeautiful figures and impressive collection of tokens!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil. The tokens were nice to do a different pace.
DeleteThe tokens look great Simon, looks like you had a good time at the show, and you have been very productive on your haul
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave. Feeling inspired by the book having read it and the figures are even nicer in the flesh.
DeleteExcellent to see some of the Original Road Warrior 'Humungus' figures & such. Curious as to all those Post Apoc vehicles in the background, are those kits or kitbashed by the company as eye candy?
ReplyDeleteHi Terry yes indeed. They are all available to buy from Crooked Dice. Some are as they comes some have the conversion kit bits added that have just come out. Allowing you to convert your own cars or those from Crooked Dice.
DeleteLoads of terrific eye candy Simon :-)
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for posting, I was hoping to get to the show but sadly it wasn't to be - you've provided the perfect consolation prize!
Thanks I need to get more pics in of games and such but I get to distracted by all he nice toys.
DeleteI do like the counters for WD, you brushwork really makes them 'pop' - they're instantly recognisable.
ReplyDeletePartisan looked great and you must have been tempted by all the goodies on show many times over.
Thanks Joe. Yes indeed much to tempt you as you wander round.
DeleteYour supply tokens are boss Simon! Great haul from the Other Partizan - super jealous that you got the Dale and Rick exclusives lol! I'm still searching out a Lee and Clem :(
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivory. I have been to get to a show all year and this was the last chance and a bit further out than normal for me.
DeleteThe next show is Chillcon in Derby but there is a 7TV day the same day I am attending.
I picked dup Lee and Clem last year when I got the ks set.
Vividly colored markers as they should be to be noticeable. By the way, those are a great set of shots that you shared in this post.
ReplyDeleteThanks yeah the markers need to stand out a bit more than normal as I figure they will blend in with the ace new are but to much otherwise.
DeleteLots of cool figures coming from CD
I'm going to have to buy all of those apocalyptic Crooked Dice minis.
ReplyDeleteStop posting cool things, post boring Seven Years War stuff with powdered wigs and pink jackets.
Ha ha never gonna see that sort of thing here not to my tastes gaming wise.
DeleteYeah I am looking forward to it the vehicles are great.
Some great stuff in your haul. Eye'd those "Children" sculpts when I saw the KS notice, but sensibly stayed clear. They wouldn't match up with ANYTHING I have, but they look so good.
ReplyDeleteThose crows are great! I think a little small in scale for B&B to be actual Crows if stood next to the Oathsworn Raven? I think they'd make far better options for swarthy Jackdaws! :)
Crows are a bit smaller than Ravens. But I suppose with different coloured heads they could well be Jackdaws. They are quite big minis. I wished I'd had the cash to get some now.
