March over I hadn't quite managed to get all the Rebel infantry done. Currently I have half finished and the other half are progressing with them nearly all base coated ready for washes to be applied.
Rather than paint them a squad at a time I have painted the figures in pairs. With the exception of the squad leader as I wasn't sure how I was going to do the camo on his coat. The squads share similar colour schemes with only the gloves and the hard outer ring on the helmets being different between the two units. I may get more infantry later on so will have to think on how I will do those differently. Though to be honest I'd like some different models to change up the squads more. There are some aliens you can pick up but I think they are specialists you add to your normal squads so may have to look at what 3D Print options are available.
This was tricky and was more of an experiment on the camo coat that Han Solo wears in ROTJ as like the path finders all the online images seem to differ in colouration.
These look great and the the detail you managed to pick out is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. Yes they have some nice details for the type of material that they are.
DeleteExcellent work Simon, like the way you've changed little details to identify each squad, but the overall scheme ties together
ReplyDeleteIn the UK who do you go to for 3d printing of stl files? Additionally what type of material do you ask for when ordering the print, it all seems a bit confusing to a layman as I need to order some Bunny Ears of not Khorn for a 40k army.
ReplyDeleteHi Phil. I got my characters from a licensed Skull Forge printer. I am sure you could ask for a quote for other items. If there is something from Skull Forge you are after then email him as he doesn't list everything on the site but has access to all the STL's

Excellent brushwork as always, Simon. The sculpts and poses are very realistic.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Dean. I resisted for ages but it is quite a fun game.
DeleteVery nice! Looks good. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Stew!
DeleteFantastic work!
ReplyDeleteCheers Michal!
DeleteEndor Rangers were my fav Rebel troop uniforms of the original series and you've done a sweet job getting that right with this lot mate, good stuff!
ReplyDeleteYeah they are really cool. I love the Imperial Scout troopers from that movie as well. The uniform is Vallejo Russian green uniform washed with GW Cthonian Camo shade.
DeleteBrilliant work Simon!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Ray!
DeleteThey look great Simon, though its a shame they limited the poses.
ReplyDeleteCheers Terry! You do get one of each pose in a set. They are designed as a cross between board games miniatures and wargames miniatures the arms sort of snap fit. But they need a bit of clean up/trimming to get a nice fit.
DeleteIt would of been nice that when the released the rebel infantry as a separate unit to the core set that they did new poses to give more variety.
Well done!
ReplyDeleteCheers m'dears!
DeleteThese are really sweet, I love them :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Suber!
DeleteThose look great, the detail looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Cheers very much Stu!
DeleteI missed you doing these. They look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kieron. I am trying to post once a month at present as it feels manageable. I hope to get he other half of these done by end of April.
DeleteNicely done ... brings to mind scenes from Return of the Jedi.
