Empire of the Dead first glance and an Update

I have started reading the Empire of the Dead book this week the background section at the beginning set the imagination off. It is informative yet open to interpretation and you could game this period very Steam punky if you so wished. I quite like the Victorian flavour with a taste of Steam punk myself my games will be set more rural. Perhaps moving to the city as I acquire more terrain.

Looking through the Gentlemens affiliations list I quite fancy having my gents as Wulfen Jaeger (monster hunters) I'm quite fond of dogs and the have one in there list. I will do groups for all of  them over time as they are all excellent ideas.

Updates wise I've finished my second Gentlemen for my NMRIH campaign.

Some more WIP stuff. Fences are built and need painting cottages need roofs painting then weathering. Done the putty work on the rest of the party's bases plus done my Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson and Professor Erasmus's bases also. The finished another six Mantic Zombies for 18 total and built the next six  and they are awaiting paint.

I also built up a mock table to see how far the terrain I have made so far will spread out. I was quite surprised to be fair its setup on a 3x3 area at the minute. I think Trees and hedges are need. I build to many road section I think but if I put them all together I can turn them into a field.  Any other suggestions I would be grateful.

Progress Report

Well my rulebook arrived Friday with the lovely Limited Edition figure Professor Erazmus figure. Both book and figure looks awesome. I've had a quick flick through the new book (it has that aaah new book smell). its beautifully laid out in full colour lots of inspiring artwork and pictures I'm looking forward to reading it properly this later on in the week when I shall be stuck on a site job towards the end of the week with little to do.

Been pretty busy terrain wise this weekend. The two cottages are coming along nicely. I've added the card support beams on all four walls. Just need to glue the roof ones on and they will nearly be finished. Decided to do tiles on both of the roof's they are built just need to add chimneys (not sure at present) and paint them (again need research colours). There is still a few bits that need finishing painting some of the details on the windows and the door.

I have also made some roads (country lane so mostly mud looking)  these are nearly finished I'm waiting for the pva seal to dry so I drybrush them and they are done. In the background of the second picture I've started to build some fences but ran out of PVA glue so need to pick some up before I can continue with these. Still need to sort some trees, hedges and some sort of farmland (cornfields or similar) I have some ideas but have come across the right raw materials to make them yet.

No More Room in Hell 1888 progress report

Had A productive couple of days, managed to get 3 cottages nearly built and they are awaiting paint. Mantic Zed total is now 12 (18 to go). Finished my first Gentlemen Monster Hunter. Heres some pics of what i've been upto. Any tips for the buildings will be much appreciated. I'm stuck on what to do with the roof's.

I think its needs something around the join between the wall and roof might need to add some card to bridge the gap. The mark II cottages below will be white and one piece.

Heres my First Gentlemen, armed with a Sword, Revolver and Crucifix. The base is sculpted from milliput into cobblestones. The second one is nearly finished and my bases have arrived so I can start on the rest of the party.

Zombie wise the new ones plus a shot of the horde so far. They are going to be based pretty simliar to my modern/7TV stuff as I can then use them for all 4 projects.

The Secret Project

This is my first post about the 'Secret' project. I have been influenced by West Wind new Empire of The Dead game thats recently just come out the figures are fantastic and I like the sound of the game. Quite a change to Modern and Spy fi as its set in the late 1800s in the Victorian era.

Here is the background of the game

As you can see it has a little supernatural/steampunk feel (not to much steam punk but enough).Werewolf, Vampire, Gentlemen (Good and Evil) and the Brotherhood (religious faction I believe) and some other factions in the works.

I have ordered the rulebook (with limited edition fig) but to start with I intend to merge it with my zombie Wargaming in that my No More Room In Hell campaign is now going to be set in this time period. Having seen Irqan's ATZ campaign in the early 1900's over at Plastic Zombie. Its refreshing to see something so different his ATZ campaign starts here  its an excellent read I highly recommend it.

My Campaign is going to be set in and around a small rural town. Background is being worked on but I'm not happy with some of it s it will be published later. I will still be doing modern zombie gaming but this will hopefully get me started off quicker. First games and reports are set for the end of this month as thats the deadline I've set myself.

This week I've been working on all sorts. I've made some card ruins and a house (roof needs finishing and some bits tweaking scale creep!) which need to finish being painted. I've painted some Mantic Zombies which will go with both settings. This the first batch, each batch of six will have different coloured clothing so as to mix them up a bit. These where undercoated white, flesh and gore bits done then washed all over in Ogryn flesh. The bases aren't done yet as I will do all 30 when finished.

I'm doing a batch of zeds then two characters. I'll show the characters later this week as one is finished and the other half done.

I've also bought  an Outhouse from 4Ground link here. So I can have a play with these snap together buildings. They are quite reasonably priced so my town/village will probably include quite a few of there buildings.
